Share Your World – January 22, 2018

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

My brother Stephen, my birthday in February and Vacation in March

Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewelry?

Yes I believe so.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

Non-Hugger.

I really don’t like to be touched and am very uncomfortable with strange people trying to touch me.  It’s like an invasion of privacy.  Men will use hugging to take unwanted liberties. Really very creepy and disturbing.  Yes I do hug my brother Stephen and a very few select close friends but other than those people I try to avoid all uninvited touching.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

  1. I love your photos. You can really sense the friendship between you and your brother!
I’m glad to see I’m not the only non-hugger. Well, maybe “glad” isn’t the right word, but I can’t think of a better one. I don’t like people touching me without my permission. People tend to act like I’m mean or cold-hearted because of this. I show my kindness in other ways.
I hug babies and cats or friendly dogs. That’s about it.

    1. Just wanted to share a funny story. I work as a museum security guard. For 8 years I worked the Day Shift. One morning after receiving instructions from my supervisor I went on my break. As I was walking to the Staff Cafeteria suddenly a female visitor attempted to grab my arm. I’m telling you that I bobbed and weaved more than the late Great Muhammad Ali and I was moving like Neo in the Matrix. I had to read that woman the riot act that she was to Never ever put her hands on Museum staff. I refused to answer her question and sent her to the Information Desk which was right in front of her face. Felt like I should start singing Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer.

      1. The visitors used to ask me why some galleries were darkened. Certain types of artwork like pastels, scrolls, sketches are sensitive to light. Light fades artwork including fabrics. That’s why one is not allowed to take flash photos in art museums or in some museums they forbid photos. I much prefer photography to be banned and forbidden in All art museums. I’ve seen way too many fights over the years and art damage from stupid tourists with idiot Selfies.
