What is your favorite piece of art? (it doesn’t have to be famous)

I work in a museum so it’s difficult to say which artwork is my favorite but I Love Paintings! Paintings tell a story even still lifes. A close second are sculptures.

However for the sake of choice here is a photo of a Kehinde Wiley painting from the Brooklyn Museum. As you can see my brother Stephen is imitating the pose. Yes I put him up to this! LOL!!

be able to eat ice cream and drink sodas, laying down put my legs and feet behind my head and stay like that until my Mom told me to stop being a pretzel and come to dinner, party all night and still come to work on time the next day. Now I cannot do any of those things.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Went with my Japanese girlfriend to her Buddhist Temple which gives me peace, centers me and reminds me not to give into anger! I try to attend on a regular basis and even became a member in 2012. Beliefs very similar to Christianity and the Bible. Thank you Shinnyo-en Buddhism!

Prompt Stomp Week 13- Welcome 2016!

Real or made up. A super hero can be anybody. The lady next door who devotes her time to the needy, our soldiers across the seas or like our heroes growing up we can write about Batman or Wonder Woman. A super hero can take many forms. Lets write about them this week!

Every Halloween my brother Stephen and I become Super Heroes. Halloween is my favorite holiday because you can not only dress in costume but it’s okay to walk around the city in that costume with your new though temporary Identity. For a long time I went with a feline theme thus I was Cat Woman channeling Eartha Kitt for several Halloweens. As you can see I greatly enjoyed my Cat Woman and Tigeress Avatars! Stephen won Best Costume in 2011 for his Scarecrow Costume!! in 2013/2014 Stephen was a Sailor aka like the kid on the Cracker Jack box for those of you old enough to remember the caramel popcorn with the toy surprise. Obviously for those of you living on the East Coast of the United States Hurricane Sandy put the kibosh on Halloween that year. Some photos were taken at Stephen’s training center AABR in Jamaica, Queens, New York.

This past summer Stephen with his Group Home residence had visited The New York Renaissance Faire located in Tuxedo, New York. So together we decided on variations of a Renaissance Theme. I re-imagined Diana the Huntress as DeBorah the Huntress, a combination of the Hunger Games and the Goddess Diana. So I become the Goddess DeBorah acting out my incarnation as Huntress Protector of the Forest. Stephen transformed from a Sailor into the Black Robin Hood! This is what ensued.

I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions because I never keep them. I believe a better idea is to set goals. Maybe I could even call mine New Year’s Revolutions!

My #1 Priority is to get closer to God, increase my faith and to be a Lamp in a World of darkness. Yes I know that at times I’ll backslide but only Jesus was perfect. I on the other hand am being perfected over the course of time. Following Jesus Christ means doing whats right, standing up for good against evil even in the face of opposition. Continue being an Autism Advocate fighting for the rights of developmentally disabled people. That includes being the best Sister I can be for my brother Stephen. Stephen may have Autism but autism does not have Stephen. He is Blessed and Highly Favored of the Lord.

So Dear Followers and Subscribers Please be Patient with me cause God is not through with me yet!

My main goal for 2016 is to be more solution oriented. I know that in the past I’ve been a whiner & complainer. As this was pointed out to me by friends I had to truthfully and painfully examine myself and listen to the words coming out of my mouth. I Do Not want to be a card carrying member of the bitch & moan society! Even if inside I’m afraid I must work through my fear onto Victory! As the Bible says Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

As a Woman thinks so is she in Her Heart. Therefore I must Focus and not get sidetracked by other peoples demands and expectations.

Basically my goals for 2016 are a continuation of those set in 2015 & 2014. However my emphasis for 2016 is to focus more on building up my pension and retire plan monies. If God wills and my body holds up I plan to retire in 2018. More Soulful Strut Walking exercises. I don’t really set a number of miles while walking I just keep a steady pace and try to go one block further than the previous strut.

Commit to creating more photo-collages. I know that I’ve been lacking in this goal point.

So with that in mind I will keep eating as healthy as possible, get more rest and maintain my exercise program so that by the time I hit 59/60 I’ll be fit and financially stable to enjoy my retirement. Happy 2016!!
