Share Your World – 2016 Week 3

Hs6_mn6HWhat is your favorite piece of art? (it doesn’t have to be famous)

I work in a museum so it’s difficult to say which artwork is my favorite but I Love Paintings! Paintings tell a story even still lifes. A close second are sculptures.

However for the sake of choice here is a photo of a Kehinde Wiley painting from the Brooklyn Museum. As you can see my brother Stephen is imitating the pose. Yes I put him up to this! LOL!!

My hometown New York City!! Also Brooklyn, New York, USA. Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Barclay’s Center (lots of sporting events)  You can see more Brooklyn and New York City sites on my Photography page Roaming Urban Gypsy.

be able to eat ice cream and drink sodas, laying down put my legs and feet behind my head and stay like that until my Mom told me to stop being a pretzel and come to dinner, party all night and still come to work on time the next day. Now I cannot do any of those things.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Went with my Japanese girlfriend to her Buddhist Temple which gives me peace, centers me and reminds me not to give into anger!  I try to attend on a regular basis and even became a member in 2012. Beliefs very similar to Christianity and the Bible. Thank you Shinnyo-en Buddhism!

Staying calm and making it through the work week!

  1. haha that little chicken I’ve seen before, and always makes me laugh too! oh… I couldn’t get your 1st picture in the museum to show up for some reason.

    1. I’ve added another photo which I hope that you will be able to view. I also added a Madea video. Tyler Perry as Madea makes me laugh. Madea is a combination of me and my mother Mable Palmer!!

      1. Wonderful photos of the museum! It must be great to work in a museum, getting to see all the different things. We don’t get out to the one we have in town, as often as I’d like.

    1. Love the Brooklyn Museum. My brother Stephen and I try to visit the Brooklyn Museum as much as time and weather will allow. Probably Stephen and I will plan a return visit in early March for my vacation. Thanks for reading.

  2. Hi DeBorah. Thanks for this lovely, fun post. Now I am Sylvester’s greatest fan. 🐱
While my greatest love is the southwest desert, I think one travel thing everyone should do is rent a convertible and (beginning in Ft. Lauderdale, or at minimum in Miami) drive the Florida peninsula all the way down to Key West. It’s a unique experience.
    Mega hugs!

    1. Thanks for reading. If I could still drive I do the Route 66 thing but as my eyesight has worsened over the last 7 years I’d need a chauffeur. Putting me behind the wheel would cause an episode of Mr. Magoo to ensue!! Stevie Wonder would drive better than me!! 🙂

However back in the day when I was younger and my vision was pretty I did the Tamiami Trail. 🙂
