Today’s Writing Prompt is…

I cannot remember one specific New Years Celebration that stood out however when I was a young woman in my 20s I can recall going to Watch Night Service on New Year’s Eve. Watch Night Service is a special church service where you pray in the New Year.

Then after the church service was over I would just hang out with my friends probably going to somebody’s home. Transportation was no problem as during this time period in the 1980s I remember the Mayor of New York and the MTA offered Free Rides on the subways and buses. I suppose that was to protect inebriated New Yorkers who had over done their New Year’s Eve Celebrations.

I was brought up as a Baptist but attended other Christian denominations where I had the opportunity to enjoy various celebrations. Whether I went out or not when the Ball dropped in Times Square and Guy Lombardo played Auld Lang Syne my family would have a small toast, kiss and wish each other Happy New Year!

In recent years I’ve had the pleasure of attending my Japanese girlfriend New Years Day service at her Buddhist Temple located in White Plains, NY.  At the Temple I saw and heard powerful performances of the Taiko Drums. Also I’ve gone to Asian (what many call Chinese New Year but most Asians use the same zodiac calendar) New Year Celebrations. I’ve seen the Dragon Dance, eaten traditional Japanese foods which are delicious and the Buddhist ministers acknowledge those born in the year of the goat, horse, or whatever animal is represented for that particular year. I was born in the Year of the Boar and when that year comes I will make it a point to take off and attend as many services as I can get to. I am a Member of Shinnyo-en Buddhism but due to work concerns I can’t get out to services as much as I would like. And No you are not required to convert to Buddhism. I’m still a Christian and still acknowledge Jesus as My Lord and Savior but I’m open to benefits from other faiths.  Actually I find Buddhism more of a philosophy than a religion as the Buddha never said that he was God. As my Japanese girlfriend puts it, Shinnyo-en is where Jesus and Buddha shake hands. Many Americans of all faiths, races and backgrounds go to the Temple for meditation and uplift. So no different from a Christian church.

Auld Lang Syne” (Scots pronunciation: [ˈɔːl(d) lɑŋˈsəin]: note “s” rather than “z”)[1] is a Scots poem written by Robert Burns in 1788[2][3] and set to the tune of a traditional folk song (Roud # 6294). It is well known in many countries, especially in the English-speaking world, its traditional use being to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight.

As I’ve gotten older I no longer attend Church on a regular basis and it’s way too dangerous to be out on the streets late at night I spend my New Year’s Eve’s with my cat Sylvester. I’m not even certain if Church’s still have Watch Night Service but as both Christmas and New Years fell on a Sunday this holiday season I’m certain many church goers just attended their regular day time church services.

Taiko Drumming

The following song by Dan Fogelberg has nothing to do with the traditional Auld Lang Syne but I like the song.

My Favorite Oddball of this past week is the Dancing Samurai aka the Japanese Tom Cruise!!  We both did our own special boogie along the area that connects the 4,5, & 6 subway trains to the L train.  The Dancing Samurai had two very quiet yet watchful brightly colored chickens.  This station is named 14th Street Union Square. That laughter you hear is me cackling along to the music!! LOL!!

Breaking All Chains and Shackles

Osiris & Isis
Osiris and Isis

Despite the Challenges and setbacks in life my journey takes me to new places, new discoveries and new learning experiences.

Within the Soul the two natures of man exist each seeking the preeminence and each wanting to be the dominant force.  The Sacred and the profane.

A Lost Soul finds her way home. Chains are being Broken.

Tasha Cobbs — Break Every Chain

My Awakening has happened over a period of time.  I went into the next phase of my  Womanhood as I entered Menopause. Truly over the last several years as I entered my 50s, (I’m 55 now) I’ve undergone a revealing Change of Life.  The Universe has opened up new portals and realms in which I travel taking on the mantle of being an Elder. I take my place within the Council of Elders as I march towards Infinity = Eternity.

The Heavens opened up and all my Ancestors, African, Native American, Christian, Buddhist, Indigenous Faiths began speaking to me on next steps in Life.  I truly believe in the Scripture that says, “The Steps of the Righteous are Ordered by the Lord.”  I’m discovering the Galaxies within. Through my Kindred Ancestors I’ve found into to Leap Forward I had to step back confronting my fears honestly with faith, gentleness, Wisdom and Understanding. I gather each of my broken pieces, honor the Divinity of each shard, embrace my tears, and like Isis I’ve gathered the pieces of my scattered tribes and Ethiopia is Reborn!  Shall these dry bones live?  Yes says the Creator of the Universe!  Once again I sing the Songs of Solomon and Sheba.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 New International Version (NIV)

The Lord’s Answer

Then the Lord replied:

“Write down the revelation
    and make it plain on tablets
    so that a herald may run with it.
For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
    it speaks of the end
    and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
    it will certainly come
    and will not delay.

The Land of the Rising Sun embraced me as I entered the Border-less Gardens.

Live the Sankofa bird I’ve returned to myself.  Despite raging battles without and within my Calling and Passion as a Scribe bid me come forth to record my Voyage.  Grounded in the Lily.  Supported by the Lotus.

The Queen has returned to her Queendom. She sits upon her Throne whilst reigning over the Seven Lands, A Judge and a Mother over Africa, Israel and the Americas.

Judges 4 & 5.

Isaiah 54:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

The Future Glory of Zion

54 “Sing, barren woman,
    you who never bore a child;
burst into song, shout for joy,
    you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
    than of her who has a husband,”
says the Lord.
“Enlarge the place of your tent,
    stretch your tent curtains wide,
    do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
    strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
    your descendants will dispossess nations
    and settle in their desolate cities.

Alkaline Antioxidant Water Chronicles: Beautiful Skin Testimony

Kangen vs Bottled Water

Alkaline Antioxidant

Water Beautiful Skin Testimony:

A Co-Worker complimented me today on how beautiful, smooth and glowing my skin looked. I thanked her and told her that I drank lots of Alkaline Antioxidant Water. I’ve been drinking my Alkaline Antioxidant Water consistently since March 2014. I try to polish off at least half a liter or more a day. Alkaline Antioxidant Water is totally absorbed by the body’s cells and does it’s great work almost immediately.

As one who exercises on a regular basis I’ve tried bottled waters like Smart Water, Vitamin water, Dasani and Aquafina and actually became ill from drinking these brands. If you read the labels carefully they add chemicals and preservatives to their water so it will keep a long time in some stores basement on other the shelf. By the way nobody knows how long bottled water sits in the store’s cellar with temperature fluctuations which cause the chemicals in the plastic to leech into the water! Yuck!!

I tend to get very dehydrated at work (My workplace building is over 140 years old and some galleries have no windows, thus recirculated air). At first I only drank in the morning and after returning home from the job. After my fever episode early July I realized I needed to increase my intact of Alkaline Antioxidant Water.

When I was sick I drank Two Gallons of water and the illness left my body in less than 48 hours, the cough after a couple more days. Now I bring my Alkaline Antioxidant water to work and drink upon arriving, during my breaks and on these very hot summer days on those sweltering subway platforms.

Japan Rain

Japan Rain

Mystical Animal Avatar

Rain–Once Mother Nature’s friend.

Sends Acid Rain.

Burning our delicate skins.

Layers peeling, revealing eons of hurt and anguish, once suppressed in eruptive tectonic plates shifting. Now Earth’s anger has been released upon the innocents.

It is said that death comes in threes. Thrice damaged, will our sweet Islands nation survive or will she vanish into the sea from whence she was birthed.

Nay, Japan shall arise like the Phoenix from the ashes loudly proclaiming, “She is still the Land of the Rising Sun!”

Rain is God’s Tears

Watering the Earth

Sweet Anointing pouring over His people.

Washing away internal and external poisons.

Let there be rebirth in the realm of the Samurai.

So shall it be saith the Lord!

And as for I, my faith is restored within the heavens.

Within my internal cosmos.
