Trump State Visit – Petition and Debate

The people of the United Kingdom are overwhelmingly against President Trump being honoured with a State visit. The nation has spoken.

On a personal level, I do not wish to see a man who thinks that it is OK to grab a woman by her genitals, although he expressed this much more crudely than I, shaking handDonald Trump presidencys with my Queen, who is the most dignified and respected woman in the world.

Many years ago, at the commencement of my long and distinguished military career, I swore an oath of allegiance to Her Majesty. I am left wondering how I can protect her from this seemingly perverted President.

Naz Shah, MP for Bradford West, was one of the most eloquent and convincing speakers in the MPs’ debate. You can view and hear her four minute speech here. It is worth a few…

  1. Thanks for re-blogging.

Don’t worry about the reputation of USA. I love America, although some this NHS could be improved just like my country and any other. We realise that President Trump does not represent the majority of citizens any more than Mrs May represents the majority of Brits.

I could just about tolerate a visit of the President as the elected leader of your country. We have welcomed abhorrent leaders before. But NOT the honour, and tax-payers’ expense, of a State Visit. I do not want this obscene man anywhere near my Queen. Yes! It is personal!
Loving a country and it’s people does not mean that we have to love its deluded leader.
    Hugs.

    1. Thanks for your response. I’m glad to Reblog your valuable post and happy to share with my readers. No I don’t take it personally. I’m sure you’ve read of all the protests, marches and demonstrations since this nutter took office. All he has done is to cause more problems and he is a disgrace to the USA. Like you I too Love my country and only want what is best for America. As a US Army Veteran who served in the military I just find Orange head disgusting and a poor excuse for a so-called Leader. I wish Blessings, Peace and Prosperity upon both our countries.

      ❤ ❤

      1. I spent 22 years in loyal service to my Queen and country.
I saw a Trump supporter complaining about the protesters in USA the other day. He was saying that most of them had probably never worn a uniform or served their country in any way.
Excuse me Mister! Take a look at YOUR President an C-in-C!!!!

      2. I did 4 four years in the US Army. We take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. Also to obey the Commander in Chief however in America there are supposed to be checks and balances in the government so one branch does not have absolute power. Somehow lately this does not seem to be working as the Executive branch (President) is overstepping his boundaries. And yes you are correct in the Trump did not serve in Vietnam. He claimed he had an “Ouchie” in his leg yet he was playing College sports and other activities. Can you say “hypocrite!” Grrrrr…….. Last but not least the plight of Veterans in the USA is horrible. Many are homeless and out on the streets. Many need mental health services, housing and other support services/programs. My taxes seem to go to more weapons and invading countries that are not bothering us as opposed to Veterans services which are badly needed.

  2. I am with you, shoulder to shoulder, arm in arm.
It is obvious that we are both equally upset.
I must stop ranting because I am only winding myself up more, but I just want to make one more point.
I don’t know about you, but it offends me every time I see Mister Trump throw up a salute towards one of your uniformed military personnel. He has not been trained. He has never been drilled. The only salute at which he seems to be extremely proficient is when he pinches together the index finger and thumb of his right hand in a circle and waves it around as he speaks. In my land, this gesture translates as “I’m a wanker!”
At least he got one thing right.

    1. LOL!! 🙂 😀 Yes let us think on more pleasant things. My 58th Birthday is Monday, Feb. 27th so I will try to fun something fun and relaxing to do. We cannot think on the moron all the time. I will keep my mind towards my Birthday Celebration. Thanks again!!
