Store Your Obsessions inside The Cube

Store Your Obsessions inside The Cube

An Insipid Alienist was discovered inhabiting insidious spaces inside my head. She thought to fill them with bran and honey forever sticking to the collective hive.

Protected by my double bubble skin I resisted all attempts at Rehab or Civilization for I spin wildly yet connectedly within my galaxy held in place by eons of moons and upswept worn torn taints of traits.  On the cusp of virginity and statehood.

Gold Metal Fashion

The Baronet bumped up against her gold metal skin and the surface was shorn allowing electricity to flow from within.

Debonair Mannerisms

Moneyed Heiresses

Cousins upon Cousins

Quietly going mad from incestful ancestral seasons.

Seismic moments vomited up my brain. Memories put up Yield signs cautioning “Out of Order”

The Invisible Man is so Elusive.

Jacob’s Well needs Weeding.

Inborn tornadoes burning bright.

Sometime later his life was brought to a judicial end.

As Warriors crumble Knights fractals and holograms play havoc with jousting pixellated metaphysical tramps and hobos.

His reward for such due diligence was 18 months up the river all the while yelling, “I’ll tell you what I’m looking for when I find it!!”  There goes Mr. Bombastic off to the races!!

Girls like Polly are always around. They kneel in worship at phallic iKon temples. PollyAnna Burlesque.  I submitted myself to the Battle and was immediately cut to pieces.

Symbols washed ruts into the air. Footsteps vanished into clouds. Caught up in a Vortex of tumbling whirling muffled conversations. Spreading iridescent fairy dust-balls across the plains. The earth opened up under his feet swallowing him whole emitting noxious vapors, fumes and a trickle of smoke. Every breath sucked air from the wind leaving behind desiccated pockets of stillness. A resounding Vibrato echoed across sparkling valleys.

Even if the Rescue Squad only plucks one from the murky depths Let me stop in Hades before the Charming MoonRising sets sail. Quaff along with the reluctant crumpled Muses for I can hear your fragrance rising from the pores of your flesh.

Transcendent Souls burst into being. Spicy Masala Gumbo Jambalaya Oasis occupied breathing spaces formerly homes for fertile progeny. The Seigneur awaits his audience. The Parliament of Fools is now in session.

Parental Sayings | Words of Wisdom

Both my parents were good for the “Old Sayings” however my Dad Edward G. Palmer had a knack for them. But my Mom Mable Palmer was not far behind. Now as I’m older I find myself remembering these words of wisdom and repeating them.

Edwardisms

If you lay down with dogs, you’ll get up with fleas.

Straighten up and Fly Right.

I complained because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.

It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

You made your bed now lie in it.

Mableisms

If you can’t say something nice about someone don’t say anything at all.

You never know who you may have to call on.

If you mess up you clean up.

Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.

That’s a “Change of Life” Baby.

All that glitters is not gold.

Old Wives Tales

My mother had a great respect and fear of thunderstorms. Torrential rain, thunder and lightening had Mom calling us indoors to sit silently with the blinds and curtains drawn, the TV, Lights and radio off nor were we allowed to make phone calls or answer the phone. Mother used to say that thunder and lightening was God working for the devil beating his wife. Now I would say that God is always working and I was surprised to learn that the devil had a wife!!  It is raining now in New York but all my lights are on. However my mother was born in West Virginia and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Maybe that’s were those expressions came from.

There’s no Fool Like an Old Fool.

She’s No Spring Chicken.

The Gift of Selective Hearing

Totally UnRelated or Things That Make You Hummmm……

One of my duties as a museum security guard is to check the elevators at the end of the day. We must make sure that no museum visitors get left behind when the building closes.

I have the gift of hearing things that no one has said. At the end of one day my co-worker & fellow guard said to me, “Is there anybody in the elevator.” I heard, “Elvis is in the alligator.” So perhaps Elvis is in the elevator and the alligator ate him!! Or maybe this is all part of the “Insanity Claus.” Kris Kringle’s Mad Twin Brother!  Go Figure?!! LOL!!

They’re Coming to Take me Away Lyrics

Miss you much Mom & Dad. Wish I could hear your voices once again.

Childhood | The Daily Post

Childhood

Photos of me, Stephen, my father Edward Gordon Palmer and my Aunts as children. I don’t have any pictures of my Mom Mable Elizabeth Palmer as a child because her family was too poor to afford a camera or have photos taken of them. I have included a picture of my childhood dresser which I’ve had since I was five years old. It came as part of a Vanity set but only this piece survives.

Also shown is a photographer of my paternal Grandfather William Junius Palmer with some of his children taken around 1923 in Mt. Morris Park (now Marcus Garvey Park) in Harlem. My Dad Edward Palmer is not in this photo because he was born in Feb. 1930. The little boy seated on my Grandfather’s lap who would have been my Uncle died of polio. My grandparents lost at least two boys to this disease. My Dad was the only boy to survive and he was nicknamed Precious.

The photo of my Dad Edward G. Palmer was done in around 1935 by famous Harlem Renaissance photographer James Van Der Zee.   http://www.biography.com/people/james-van-der-zee-9515411
