Judges 4-5 New International Version (NIV)

Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading[a] Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided. She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The Lord, the God of Israel, commands you: ‘Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor. I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.’”

Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”

“Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.”

Matthew 11:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Color Him Father. Color Him Love ~~ Father’s Day 2015

The Winstons – Color Him Father

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY IN HEAVEN DADDY!! WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ALWAYS! LOVE, DEBORAH & STEPHEN

My Dad was everything a man should be as a husband and Father. Rough times when any lesser man would have left my Dad stepped up to the challenges of life and carried us through. If it had not been for Daddy Stephen and I would not be here today. He raised us to be honest, hardworking, caring and thoughtful. For 36 years I was blessed to call Edward Gordon Palmer my Dad. The lessons he taught me are still in my heart, soul and spirit. Color him Father.  Color him Love.  #FathersDay

Happy Father’s Day to all my Blog Family and Friends. Dads enjoy your special day. For those of you who have lost your Dads let good memories flow through your day. Men for those whose Father was not a part of your life or was not active in your life be the Father to your children that you wanted for yourself when you were a child. Be Loving, caring, compassionate Father to your children whether you’re with the mother or not.  Kids need two parents. Fathers are an important part of a child’s life. Don’t allow anger with your ex- to spoil your relationship with your kids. Men your kids need you. Not things. Not sneakers. Not iPhones, laptops, tablets, etc…  Yes they do need food, clothing, and a place to live but the best you can give to your children is your time. Laugh with your kids. Make jokes. Hug them. Treasure those funny little drawings and misshapen gifts from shop class. Most of all tell your kids you Love them not just through words but by action. My best memories of my Dad are all the weekends he took us out to give my mother a break. I don’t always remember the details of the trips

Yaa Asantewaa Breaks the Sky and Bursts the Oceans

When the Sky Erupts…

When the sky erupts spewing stars like spores upon the heavenly tiers. The seas break forth and separate giving up the noble dead. For the people flew forth to Atlantis each speaking their own tongue. Return to the Mother Land.  Mother Africa! The Amistad has landed.

Amistad

I see stitches where the blood has come undone. Skin graffiti. Splotches of blood drops dripping rippling sperm impregnating the earth giving life to dry bones. If crimson be the elixir of life then I shall populate new beings for my Mother. I see my arteries and veins crisscrossing the land. The extent of my DNA lives in all peoples. The Ashanti Empire has been regained and reigns once more.

All Hail Mother Yaa Asantewaa Queen Mother of the Rebel Forces!

Ancestral Memories & Captured Moments

Ancestral Memories

Family Photographs dating from the 19th to 21st Centuries. My paternal Grandmother Eva Gordon Palmer labeled the older photos.  The photos from the 19th Century were all taken in Photography studios located in New York City where my Great Great Grandmother settled with her five children after my Great Great Grandfather William Henry Halstead passed away.  William Henry Halstead served in the Civil War as part of the 29th Ct. Colored Regiment.  Please click on the below links for more information on him and his unit.

My Paternal Grandparents Eva and William Palmer married in Jan. 1919 and had several children. All the boys passed away from polio except my Dad Edward G. Palmer. His nickname was Precious.  They had three daughters Helen Louise Palmer Garcia, Thelma Rosalie Palmer Varner and Eva Palmer Stuppard.

All the people pictured except me and my brother Stephen have gone onto Glory and are Living their Heavenly reward.
