He did make some good music. R.I.P. Al Jarreau
So sad to hear about his passing. Loved his smooth Jazz sounds.
Reblogged this on All About Writing and more.
Thanks for the Reblog. Al will be missed.
WOW – it seems like only yesterday when he hit it big in the New Orleans jazz scene (where I was in grad school). 76 is sounding younger as I get older – tho’ there was a time when it seemed ancient. Sad that he will no longer be blessing us with his music.

Yes he was a great treasure and Jazz icon.
I’m listening to his music right now. That means gently swaying in my chair while the horns are playfully intersect a smooth scat, finger(c)licking good.
Sounds good. Al was one of the Jazz Masters.
Oh, that’s sad! I did not know he was already in his 70’s!
I figured he was getting up in age but at least he was able to keep singing until illness stopped him. Very few of us get to live our dreams plus make a living doing so. His legacy is his music.
So true, Deborah!
I posted a short obituary.
To thank him for all his music. With this in our mind he will live forever!
