Dancing in the Purple Reign

Dancing in the Purple Reign

 Finished Product

Not as bright and vibrant as I wanted but I did mix the Ultra Violet with the colors I used earlier this week. Next time I will just use the Ultra Violet alone. Seeking Vibrant colors.  ♡♡ ☆ ☆

No Dancing but I celebrated my Color Job with a Soulful Strut Power Walk

Completed a Soulful Strut Power Walk along Rockaway and Atlantic Avenues in Brooklyn. No it’s not a Nature Walk but I still got in my exercise which is very important. Accomplished this goal by starting my walk around 7:00 pm when the sun is beginning to go down thus less heat. Sometimes you must adapt your exercise routine to the weather conditions. I feel so great after doing a Power Walk. You can walk at your own pace. Tonight I was able to keep up a fairly brisk walk. Go Me!!

Shall I be a Unicorn or a Afro-Purple Reign Mermaid?  Stayed Tuned for the next Episode of Dancing in the Purple Reign.

The Purple Haze Glamnation Project

The Purple Haze Glamnation Project

Begin on Clean dry hair. Prior to applying the color I washed my hair and allowed it to air dry.  The color will absorb and take better once you wash out all the hair products you’ve been putting on your hair.

This is messy. And I am sloppy. That’s why you see my bathroom covered with old sheets and towels and I am wearing a ratty beat-up T-Shirt. Unless you want to dye your bathroom and your clothing Purple I suggest that you cover every area of your bathroom that the color may drip on. Wear the plastic gloves which you can get from the Beauty Supply store for less than a dollar. I did put on two plastic conditioning caps to contain the color and allow it get the best application. I usually leave it on for about an hour. I combined two Manic Panic colors into a plastic container that I used as a mixing dish. I’ve done color combinations with their Reds but this is the first time I’m trying to achieve maximum effect with the Purples.

I have 4C hair. If you are Black you know what I mean. Kinky tightly coiled hair. No curls.  Black people have all manner of hair textures. From bone straight to small tight coils like mine.  Sometimes hair texture is due to race mixing especially in the United States however if you take a look at the African Continent you will find all types of hair textures. African hair has the most variety on the planet.  I’m proud of my hair.

Me looking a hot mess!! LOL!!

Purple Reign!!

Just out of the shower.

Finished results. What do you think?

The Purple shows up better outside in the Sunlight.  Maybe next time I will add some red to make it somewhat lighter.

Now for the Experts!!

This young Lady aspires to be a Mermaid. Or My Little Pony as the title to her video states. At her age it’s cute. At my age it would be ridiculous however I Love the way her hair came out. She is gorgeous!  I am still thinking of using the variety of purple hair colors, shades and tints she uses in the video.  Her result was Outstanding!

Manic Panic Rock ‘ N ‘ Roll Red

As many of my loyal readers already know I am a big fan of Manic Panic by Tish and Snooky.

For the past few months I’ve been rocking Manic Panic Vampire Red. This past week I received an email from Manic Panic telling me of a new shade of Red named Manic Panic Rock ‘ N ‘ Roll Red selling for only  $10 dollars. Naturally I ordered one jar and it came in the mail a few days ago.

I have applied this new shade of Red combined with the leftovers from the previous one.

Simply Red. Fiery Red Empress! High Voltage Duchess!  Shazam!

Do you notice any difference in my hair shade or color from Feb/March photo posts? Looking at these pics I do notice my hair has grown since I cut my hair in February. Now I’m just gonna let my Afro extend to the sky even though this will involve getting up close and personal relationship with my blow dryer since my hair tends to snag and tangle. As my hair continues to grow I might invest in the hand held steamer described in the below NappyFu Video.

Try to ignore the dark under eye circles. It has been a rough week at work. Not much sleep. I did put some Vitamin E Oil on my face which will hopefully get rid of the eye circles.

Any posts you might have missed can be found on my Photography Blog Roaming Urban Gypsy:  https://roamingurbangypsy.com/  (Shameless Plug)

Anyway Please let me know what you think about my New Red Hair Color!!
