Many Waters Cannot Drown Love

The Dance of Love

Boyhood

Together in Life and into Eternity. As cancer ravaged his body every day he asked for his Beloved. She was first in his mind in the morning and last thought at Night before sleep. Only until Daddy was reassured that the Love of his life would be cared for did he take his final Earthly breath. Then not able to bear her suffering from cancer he begged Jesus to be allowed to escort her home.

On August 1998 Jesus said Yes. Descending into the hospital room Edward said Mable come with me. Taking his hand they ascended towards Home. Passing through the Gates of Heaven at once 25 again. Young, Healthy and in Love.

Thanks for reading. No Daddy issue here. Our Dad was everything to us.

I’m committed to changing the negative narrative and stereotypes of Black Men and Black Fathers.

Don’t drink the Koolaid and Don’t believe the hype about Black men pushed by the media. STOP Watching Love and hip hop plus those Stupid Wives TV Shows! Not real life! All Lies! Fake!

For all the Men Who step in when a child’s Father has died. Salute!

Color him Father. Color him Love by the Winstons.

She transitioned Late Night Early Dew Dawn after a Night of Prayer. The call you fear but you know that it’s on it’s way. She Expired. Not died. Not Passed Away. Not deceased.  Expired.

Outside I’m calm as a sheet of hidden ice on a dark street corner. Inside I’m Screaming.  Yelling, What do you mean She expired? What is She? A carton of sour milk? Or stale bread? Rancid fruits cast from the Vine long time laid on ground. Ignored by Gleaners and Harvesters?

Isn’t there a better term to express this wrecked freight train of cancer that was a head on collision hurtling my Mom to another Realm? One that I cannot reach in my current corporeal form? Cancer that eats your bones and destroys your flesh with Gatling tommy gun accuracy.

Memories of Childhood came rushing back piling up one up another.

“Help me. Help Me. Help he said Before the Hunter Shoots Me Dead. Come little Rabbit Come inside. Safely will abide.”

When My Soul Flies Away in the Morning Then I Shall Be at Rest….

When one Expires does this mean you finally get to Exhale?

Exhale from pain.  Exhale from sorrow. Exhale from a web of tubes and needles threading through arteries and veins. No more Beep….Beep….Whoosh. Only a Flat Line on a Lazy screen. The Last Vestiges of soul escape quickly fleeing a broken body. Release from bonds and chains. Unshackled.

Bittersweet. She’s away from pain but also away from me.

Her Spirit hearing the Clarion Call of Salvation rushed towards Heaven in a gust of wind……

Greetings to All Wellness Warriors!

I have noticed a significant improvement in my joints. The osteoarthritis pain has lessened and reduced. I’ve also noticed an increase in my energy levels. I am glad for the improvement.

My Mom Mable Elizabeth Palmer had osteoporosis as did some of my maternal and paternal Aunts.  I do not want osteoporosis.  Quality of Life means a lot to me.  I need to be Strong for my brother Stephen who is an Awesome Amazing Autism Guy.  Next year when I turn 60 my plan is to retire  and pursue my Photography, Art, and writing full-time.  In order to pursue my passions and the desires of my heart I must, I need to be Healthy.

Let Me Call You Sweetheart

Let Me Call You Sweetheart

As the Month of February aka The Love Month comes to an end I Honor the Sweethearts in my Life. My Grandparents William and Eva Palmer who were married for around 50 years and my parents Edward & Mable Palmer who were married for 40 years.

Dearest Sweethearts

Tell Me What Heaven is like

Come to Me in My Dreams and tell me of Paradise!

Are Aunt Helen Garcia and Aunt Thelma still as talkative as they were on earth?

It must be great that you get to see Aunt Helen James, Aunt Gladys, Uncle Clarence, Uncle Willie, Cousin Linda, Cousin Bertie, Grandma Hattie Finney. Tell them how much I miss them. Tell them my world has not been the same since they ascended to God.

Are the streets really paved with gold?

Are there 12 Gates to the City?

And What of Jesus and the Angels?

Oh How I long to be reunited with you once more!

No more pain. No more sorrow. No more hurt. To Leave the cares of this cruel world behind!

I know that I’m just passing through onto a better, richer more rewarding Life.

But one day I too shall take my seat at the Welcome Table! What a Great Day that Shall be!

There is never a day that goes by that I don’t think of you!

I’ll See You in My Dreams!

Boarding the Coltrane

HAPPY 59TH BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Boarding the Coltrane

Chasing Trane is like chasing Star Dust

He’s so far ahead that we mere mortals can only gaze in wonder knowing that we can never catch up but always aspire to those levels

Coltrane is a Rainbow in Flight

Every T. Monk.  Every Prophet and Messiah battle inner demons
