Vitamins for Health ~~ Vitamin Infusion

2017 Vitamins for Health Journey Update!!!!

Just received my bottle of Mineral Rich made by the company Maximum Living!!  Mineral Rich is marketed as a Vitamin Supplement/Energy Drink. I found out about Mineral Rich from the below Naturalista YouTuber.  Hopefully my hair will also grow faster and longer which would be a great addition to also getting more energy.

Taking more control of my physical health. In order to get better and be better I’ve got to do better. Complaining does not help. Whining is useless. Action is needed. Thus I’m going on a Vitamin regime. I think that some of my tiredness and exhaustion may come from not getting enough vitamins.  I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!!  Tired of cancelling fun times, parties and events with friends because of being exhausted!!  I’m only in my 50s and I don’t want to feel like I’m in my 70s or 80s!!

I’m been shoring up my finances with as much overtime as humanly possible and I’m going to treat myself to a type of Vitamin Spa. One of the many great things about New York City is that everything is available to keep you healthy and strong. All types of options. Some are not covered by insurance. Some are a bit expensive but with careful saving one can make use of the many holistic options New York City offers.

I will consult my medical doctor in terms of Vitamin B injections and what other holistic means I can employ to be healthier. Props to all my Doctors at Roosevelt Hospital!
I think an extra dose of B Vitamins, my Ensure drinks, and Moringa Bitters I expect to see some changes by the end of October start of November.  Moringa Bitters are sold in many Caribbean and African owned stores in New York. Yes it does taste bitter but so did the Cod Liver Oil my Dad used to make us take when we were kids!!  LOL!!

Dreaming of Mother

Dreaming of Mother

A Poetry Moment

Ahhh…. So beautiful. My Dream. I went to bed in New York and woke up in Ghana! One day we will meet face to face and I will Lift my hands in Praise to the MotherLand. A kidnapped daughter returning to her Native Soil. Clap my hands together and land in Botswana! The Royal Kingdom of Benin. Nigeria My Love She beckons to me. Mama Mozambique I hear you calling my name!

My wings soar high across the Nile into Egypt Land of my Royal ancestors, Hatsheput, Tiye, and Nefertiti.

Who Were the Ancient Egyptians? They are us and we are them. We are all all Queendoms and Kingdoms of Africa!!

I see the long dark corridor which took me away. That dark ship ride on stormy seas bearing me to an untrue way in which I could no longer sing Creator’s grand melody. I can still hear the moans and groans of the weary, the silent rotting flesh of the dead. Some of cast into the ocean by pale pall bearers. Sanctified in oceans cold womb. For generations and generations I have longed to return. A cast away adrift in seas of detractors. My language, customs, traditions, rites and religion torn from me I recast myself yet never forgot my true self. Throwing off my shackles to be reborn. Warrior Queen reigns over distant shores. Curly kinky tendrils carry me upward off to regal shores.

My cousins sit along African shores awaiting my return.

Other genetic ancestors Navajo, Hopi, Arapaho and Sioux bid me stay, pay homage to our Ancient Americas and dwell among them but I could not. So I Blessed them all and began the long arduous journey homeward.  This time No North Star for me only galaxies and universes enveloping me inside the womb of my first Mother.

Don’t wake me up because I’m going home. I’m going home.  Five thousand years forward into the past. I’m going home.

Blanking Out

Blank

Blanking out. Something that happens more often as we get older. Those of you over 50 know exactly what I’m talking about. As for the rest of you just wait. You’ll get there.

I’ve been working at the museum for eight years and I can forget the name of a co-worker with whom I’ve worked on a steady basis for seven of those eight years.  Just yesterday I ran into one of the guards, a young lady I see every day. Do you think I remember her name?! No!! However I never forget a face. Lucky for me I was getting off the train so I smiled, waved and we exchanged Happy Hellos. Escaped embarrassment.  Such a nice pleasant young woman.  The last placed I Lived I was there for 22 years yet I still forgot folks names! Or I’d put the wrong name to a face.

Now here’s the Oxymoron. As a museum security guard the visitors expect me to know not only where every piece of art is but how to get there. Fortunately after eight and a half years I know where most of the major most popular most asked for artworks are located and since I’ve been posted in every section of the museum I can tell you how to best access them. No I do not know where every last piece of art the museum owns is located. That would be impossible as much of it is in storage and the paintings are rotated. Security Guards are not human computers.

I seem to have an affinity for paintings.  The first wing I was assigned to was 19th Century Art. At that time I was so bored I memorized not only where every painting was located but the artist and genre, Impressionism, Realism, Post Impressionists, British Romanticism (The Pre-Raphaelites) etc….

Security guards have no say so in where we are posted so I’ve been in the Modern Art wing, the American Wing, African Art, Asian Art, European Sculpture and Decorative Arts.  After listening to the docents give tours I can pretty much give you good background and/or history of artworks located in those sections.  I’m not an expert by far.

The Experts in the Museum are the Curators and the Conservation staff.  Also I’m an English Major not an Art History Major. All I have is on the job knowledge supplemented by reading books and watching videos on art.

Now I’ve also been posted in the Egyptian and Greek sections. Please do not ask me about this art for I will surely draw a Blank. If you are a student Google is your Friend and/or the Museum website/Libraries.  Or better yet Go to the Information Desk because all you’ll get from me is a Blank Look. I don’t spend enough time in these galleries to gain knowledge nor do I wish to do so. I prefer paintings and some sculptures.

When I was a girl my Dad used to say I practiced “Selective Hearing.”  I never seemed to hear him when he was calling me. Especially if he had some task or errand for me to perform. “Deborah! Don’t you hear me?!! Turn down that radio/TV!! Pay attention!!

My Dad did not like to raise his voice and when he did so I knew my ass was grass and I was up shit creek with no oars. In other words I was in serious trouble.  So maybe it’s the same thing with People’s Names and Artworks.  My Middle-Age Senior Brain is practicing Selective Memory!!  LOL!!

Red Nose Movie Weekend

Today’s Funny Story!

Stephen and I went to the 12:10 showing of X-Men Apocalypse at the Jamaica Multiplex theater located in Jamaica, Queens, New York.
We got into the movie for only $20 bucks.
Me as a Senior and Stephen as my child!!
All by showing my AARP card! LOL!!
Let’s see now! Stephen just turned 55 earlier this month and I turned 57 back in February. Hmmm… That means I was two years old when I had my brother!!  Ha!! Ha!!

X-Men Apocalypse Movie Review

This was a great movie. Initially the movie starts out in Egypt and even though you do see some Black or Brown skinned actors playing those roles it would have made me happier to see more people of color especially Black Women.  In 3600 B.C.E. I thought there would have been any white people in Egypt. Directors and Producers need to acknowledge that Egypt is located in and part of Africa and Nubians ruled Ancient Egypt.
The directors take the audience back in time to explain some of the X-Men Mutant origins.  All the cast are newer and younger actors (20 somethings) except Wolverine who is played by the same actor as in the previous movies but only has a small short role in this film.  The movie also tells how the character Storm evolved from a petty thief who was initially on the dark side and how she discovered the truth transferring her allegiance to the good guys.
Without giving any spoilers a Woman mutant defeats the evil being and saves humanity. Excellent story-line and plot.  Plenty of action.

Captain America | Civil War

Yesterday Stephen and I went to see Captain America | Civil War. Another enjoyable action filled movie. Stephen really enjoyed this movie and my personal favorite character is the Black Panther. Love him!! Next year Black Panther is supposed to get his own feature film I would really Love to see his role expanded. In fact I’d Love to see any Black Super Hero Male or Female role’s expanded and pushed to the forefront since one sees very few African or African-American Super-Heroes and even if you do see them they always see to be the loyal buddy or side kick to the white super hero. Time for Super Heroes of African Descent to Rise to the Top where we Belong!!
Stephen and I both highly recommend both movies.
