The church is also accountable for much of the hatred America is flooded with today. Many of the so-called big time Christian Televangelists, TV preachers and well known ministers have and continue to support #45 despite the fact that they knew who he was from jump street. It makes you wonder what Bible are they reading and how did they get this unsettling view of Christianity which glorifies the status quo, division, strife and racism.
These are false prophets who must be called out for they are leading the flock astray making one group of people think that they are better than another group of people just because they have a pale complexion. That was the same justification that sanction the slaughter of millions of Native Americans, slavery, Jim Crow, etc…
Pretenders to the Throne have made Jesus who was a brown skinned Sephardic Jewish Rabbi into something that Jesus would have never supported. Just like Jesus called out and confronted those who made the Temple (House of God) into a den of thieves if he was here now Jesus would stand up to the white supremacists, KKK & Neo-nazis. By the way no matter what color or race you are stop calling yourself a Christian if you hate, despise, loathe or speak ill of people of other faiths and belief systems. On June 21, 1964, three young civil rights workers—a 21-year-old black Mississippian, James Chaney, and two white New Yorkers, Andrew Goodman, 20, and Michael Schwerner, 24—were murdered near Philadelphia, in Nashoba County, Mississippi.
In 1963, a bomb explodes during Sunday morning services in the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, killing four young girls.
With its large African-American congregation, the 16th Street Baptist Church served as a meeting place for civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr., who once called Birmingham a “symbol of hardcore resistance to integration.” Alabama’s governor, George Wallace, made preserving racial segregation one of the central goals of his administration, and Birmingham had one of the most violent and lawless chapters of the Ku Klux Klan.
The church bombing was the third in Birmingham in 11 days after a federal order came down to integrate Alabama’s school system. Fifteen sticks of dynamite were planted in the church basement, underneath what turned out to be the girls’ restroom. The bomb detonated at 10:19 a.m., killing Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Addie Mae Collins–all 14 years old–and 11-year-old Denise McNair. Immediately after the blast, church members wandered dazed and bloodied, covered with white powder and broken stained glass, before starting to dig in the rubble to search for survivors. More than 20 other members of the congregation were injured in the blast.
When thousands of angry black protesters assembled at the crime scene, Wallace sent hundreds of police and state troopers to the area to break up the crowd. Two young black men were killed that night, one by police and another by racist thugs. Meanwhile, public outrage over the bombing continued to grow, drawing international attention to Birmingham. At a funeral for three of the girls (one’s family preferred a separate, private service), King addressed more than 8,000 mourners.
Bible Belt? What Bible are they reading?
The same can be said for many of the big name white TV Evangelists, TV preachers, Mega-churches etc.. Many of which are located in the red state Bible Belt. If you’re American you know exactly of whom I speak. Do you hear any of these false prophets standing up to Agent Orange, the KKK or the Neo-nazis? No. So just like the white supremacists who took off their pointy hoods you may as well say these Bible Belt leaders have done and are doing the same. Their silence speaks volumes. They have perverted the Gospel and the name of Jesus.
