Dear People of Australia,
Thank you for inventing Ugg boots. I have two pair. One that kept my feet warm but not so good in wet snowy weather and the other pair are the heavy duty water resistant ones that I’m making ample use of today since it is snowing like crazy here in New York City.
They are expensive but worth the cost. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and they are worth the overtime and extra money as they keep my feet dry and warm in these nasty NYC snowstorms. I was fortunate to get a discount as my girlfriend’s cousin worked for the Ugg Outlet/Warehouse so I did get a reduced price. She no longer works there so I got my Uggs right on time.
And Yes Your Girl aka Your’s Truly was out there shoveling snow. One of my many and varied NYC survival skills. I probably have the best arm muscles and biceps during the winter! Not so good for my bad back! Ouch!! Anyway I employed the push the snow method as opposed to lifting and throwing. Snow like the MTA NYC Transit System gives you unwanted and unplanned for exercise!! LOL!!
I know it is summer Down Under and I truly wish some of your warm weather could be transplanted to New York. I really despise snow but Hey it’s January. I live in New York and snow is what happens during New York winters.

it’s snowing here like the gods have been sweeping
Same here. Those big flakes are still coming down and sticking. Thank God I did not have to work today. At least I can stay inside for the most part. I finished all my errands.
These shoes look just perfect for the winter season! Must be a really good quality that they still look so good after years!
Uggs are a well made brand of boots. They are built to take on the rough tough winter weather. Mine are about 2 or 3 years old.
Really good! Our winters are so different. We had some which almost buried us in snow all winter and then again it was so mild that there was no snow at all.
Maybe a symptom of Global Warming?
It is more about the air streams. We are living in an area where we are often getting that warm storm called “Foehn”. It is a wind coming from the south. As long as it blows we can have temperatures up to the upper 50’s or into the 60’s also in winter. But it also causes headaches to many due to the pressure before the storm breaks through. We had winters when the foehn was blowing very often and therefore it rained more than it snowed and never cooled down enough that the snow stayed once it fell shortly.
Fascinating. We get Cold streams from Canada. Too bad we can’t get warm streams from Mexico!!
Oh, I wish you could…
lol – mwhahahaha! Uggs are taking over the world! -cough- The Offspring and I live in Ugg boots all through winter. Having the fleece on the inside traps the air and provides wonderful insulation. Glad you’re getting good use out of them in NYC as well. 🙂
I will be living in mine all winter also if this mess keeps up. It is now past 7:30 pm and it’s still snowing!! Arrghh!! But Thanks for Uggs!!
Wow…will you get snowed in? And you’re welcome. Glad all those sheep finally do something useful. 😉
No. That rarely happens unless the snowstorm is of epic proportions. I will check the MTA website to see how my trains are running. I’ve been hearing the Sanitation trucks clearing and moving snow all day plus the Transit workers are required to shovel and de-ice the stairs leading to and from the subway stations. Usually NYC is well prepared for Winter Snowstorms as this happens every winter. New Yorkers just bundle up and carry on. I thank the sheep in Australia for providing the wool that lines my Ugg boots. Their contribution is vital to the warmth and dryness of my feet! LOL!! 🙂 😀
lmao – the sheep of Australia are happy to help! And I suppose your Winter is like our Summer – extreme weather but we all know what to do. 🙂
Yes. Probably the same just in reverse order. Last summer the temps hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit! I Love warmth and heat but not that much heat!! All I wanted to do was drink ice cold water and stay under my shower!! I prefer summer to stay in the 70s and 80s. Comfortable. Winter is not my favorite season but being born and raised in New York I’m prepared and know what to do.
100 F is 37 C and that’s what we’ve been having. 😦 Unfortunately, 39, 40 and 41 have become fairly ‘normal’ the last few years as well. Yay for climate change. 😦
A real Ugh weather moment. Blehh……
lol – yeah.
I wore my Uggs today! It is cold here in sunny Florida (31 degrees!!) but my feet were toasty warm. You are right–they are so worth the money.
Now that its dark the temps have dropped down to the 20s. Fortunately I’m inside. Did all the snow shoveling I’m about to do for the day. My Landlord took over the snow clearing duties. So Glad I’m inside my house; warm and toasty but tomorrow off to work! Yuck!! My Uggs will carry me through the nasty frozen icy mess.
Ugh for work, but yay for Uggs! 😀

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE UGGS!
They are the best winter boots made. Better than Tims.
