If I Could Turn Back Time

If you could return to the past to relive a part of your life, either to experience the wonderful bits again, or to do something over, which part of you life would you return to? Why?

First the musical interlude!

Tyrone Davis – If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time (Best Version)

Early childhood when my brother Stephen and I were little and both of our parents were alive. Those were the best days of my life.  Playtime. Carefree. No worries. Could eat anything I wanted. No bills. No debts. The Love of my Mom and Dad.  True Happiness.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2016 WEEK 1

As a child, who was your favorite relative?

My Aunt Thelma Palmer Varner. I spent many happy times with her at her apartment in Co-op City Bronx, NY.  She also took me to the movies, petting zoos, shopping etc…  Aunt Thelma was the “funny story” Aunt. Always having some weird, wacky yet wonderful NYC adventure. I was truly brokenhearted when she passed away from breast cancer in 1985. After she left the body I became very close to my Aunt Helen Palmer Garcia (the woman in the pink dress) who went to be with the Lord May 2010 at age 89.  Both my Aunts (My Dad’s Sisters) had a great and positive impact on my life.

If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be?

A Palm Tree that way I’d know I’d be in a warm climate!!  Or a Rose bush because that was my Mom Mable Elizabeth Palmer’s favorite flower. She planted many rosebushes in our backyard when I was growing up.

What would be your preference, awake before dawn or awake before noon?

Awake before Noon! Unfortunately my body clock loves to wake me up before dawn! Dang Insomnia!!

Would you like to sleep in a human size nest in a tree or be snuggled in a burrowed spot underground?

I don’t like heights but I’ve rather sleep in a well secured human size tree nest since being burrowed in the ground sounds too much like being buried underground!!  I wanna me Jesus but not right now!!  Let me sleep with the Eagles!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for the Blessing to have spent time with my brother Stephen Vincent Palmer on Christmas Day and the following weekend. Regular readers of my blog know how much I Love my brother Stephen. He was my own personal Christmas gift! I’m also grateful for the Me-time I took this past New Year’s weekend. I just relaxed, rested, wrote my blogs, did my Soulful Struts, took photos and just enjoyed my time as a Solitary.  As for the upcoming week I requested Friday, Jan. 8th off from work so I can attend a progress report meeting at Stephen’s Day Treatment Center, AABR.  Anytime with Stephen is time well spent!

The Daily Post’s Writing Prompt: “Tattoo……..You?”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Tattoo….You?.”

Do you have a tattoo? If so, what’s the story behind your ink? If you don’t have a tattoo, what might you consider getting emblazoned on you skin?

Number of Tattoos on my body. Let’s see so far 9 and counting. I plan to get another one soon.  Two devious demented Hello Kitties (One is a Dominatrix), tramp stamp (really hate that name), a dolphin, my Mom’s name Mable on my left arm, a Cross and me and my Dad’s image on my right arm, a Black Panther on my back. After my parents died I wanted to honor them so I got tattoos in their memory. No I’d never tattoo a boyfriend’s name on me because those are temporary relationships.

I plan to get a Semi-colon on my right arm because my story is not yet over.

I really Love Tattoos but I will never tattoo my boobs, hands, neck or face. Why tattoo boobs when in a few years they will be sagging lower than some of these kids pants and as for exposed body parts, well to be honest I need my job and they stipulate that our uniforms must cover all tattoos. I will also NOT autograph the junk in my trunk because that too will also succumb to the ravages of time and gravity.

Piercings are cool as long as don’t have so many that you set off metal detectors from two blocks away! My ears and belly button are done. Thinking of getting a small nose piercing. As for the naughty parts I really don’t see the logic in having non-stop orgasms. I prefer to sing opera with a handsome Chocolate brother in the privacy of the bedroom not 24/7/365!

I will continue to decorate my body temple as long as my skin canvas remains smooth and supple!

A Greater Love

The New York Times did an article on my brother Stephen who has Autism and me. Please click the link and take time to read this eye opening article of our lives. My hope is that this revealing article will not only change our lives but the lives of other people who have developmentally disabled siblings.  Please share this post with your networks. Thank you.

Genetic Memories ~~ William Henry Halstead

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Whoa!.”

See the Below link for the entire story.  I work for a museum.

Then a few days ago when I was posted in the Civil War Photography exhibit at my museum, once more an ancestor’s thoughts and emotions came to me. My Great, Great Grandfather William Henry Halstead fought in the Civil War. There was a steady stream of visitors but everyone was quiet, calm, serious, deeply affected by what they were seeing. During the course of the day as I walked through the photographs taking everything in it was like I began to see through the eyes of my Great, Great Grandfather. I could hear the sounds of battle, the screams of pain from injured soldiers, feel his adrenaline as he surged forth with his 29th CT. Colored Regiment brothers. All I can say it was like I was in his head. I had to make an effort to turn off so I could finish my day without freaking out. Even now I feel he is still with me even though I never met him. Maybe this is genetic memory. All the memories of our ancestors stay with us though we are separated by time but not necessarily by eternity………………
