SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2016 WEEK 17

With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality.

When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?

In my notebooks which are always with me I use a pen.

What’s your choice: jigsaw, word, maze or numeric puzzles?

I used to do many words puzzles like Find A Word. Don’t do it anymore because it is too difficult for me to see properly. As a child I Loved Jigsaw puzzles. I would do those again if I had time. No maze or numeric for me. Too much for my number challenged brain to figure out. Some of my co-workers are hooked on Sudoku.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

Right now I’m wearing a medium Afro. I prefer Long Hair but not the work entail in keeping it presentable.  Here are some of my various hairstyles over my 57 years. From traditional plaits, the terror of the straightening comb (If you’re a Black Woman over 40 you know what I mean), 70s Afro, Jheri Curls, Dred Locs.

List five some of your favorite blogs.

I know that this is more than five but I wanted to showcase at least eight of my favorites. I Love supporting and encouraging others!!  ❤

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

The Right to Vote. Tuesday I Voted for Bernie Sanders in the New York primaries. He did not win but I’m glad I’m able to Vote and I exercise that right every chance I get. Looking forward to next week because I will be on Vacation and it will be my brother Stephen’s 55th Birthday Celebration!!  Woohoo!! Cheers!! Hands Clapping!!

Do For Self!!

For the last few days my arthritis has been kicking up and my ankles are a little swollen.

Am I taking this lying down? No!! Well some rest but I’m taking abbreviated Soulful Struts and I’ve also purchased Turmeric, MSM, Biotin and Moringa Living Bitters which brings me to my next topic.

The Turmeric I got on Amazon which is convenient during the cold months when I do not want to go traipsing about freezing New York City searching for various vitamins and food supplements.

The MSM and Biotin I got from GNC around 84th Street and Lexington. I find their staff to be indifferent and somewhat rude so I will be patronizing my own people. Bottles of vitamins and other products blocked the cash register. The two clerks spent a lot of time gossiping and were not helpful.

The Moringa Living Bitters I purchased from Zam Zam an African store located along Fulton Street near Franklin Avenue. Moringa Living Bitters is a Detox and Energy Beverage which is all Natural and Organic. Taste terrible but so did the Cod Liver Oil Beef Iron wine my Dad used to make us take as children.

The young man in the store was professional, knowledgeable and polite. The store was neatly arranged, clean and smelled great!! Zam Zam offers an excellent wide selection of African products for reasonable prices. Health and Beauty, Cosmetics, Holistic supplements. Everything.

Moral of the Story for peoples of African Descent. Buy Black!! Don’t just complain about the disrespect we regularly get from certain other stores owned by other races. Let’s Move our dollars to our Black Owned stores circulating dollars within our community thus building up the race without having to rely on anyone else but ourselves!! Let us form Alliances with Africa and African merchants in order to better our situation!!

DO FOR SELF!! BUY BLACK!!!

Misplaced

Misplaced. Lost but not forgotten. Every day they look for me.  Divine Mother scours the land searching for her lost children. Crying because they are naught. Then once again she comes to the Island from whence the vessels filled with pale strangers cruelly kidnapped her young.  Weeping. Wailing. Shrieking. Her gown is rent in two.

Taken

Then Divine Mother casts her gaze towards the wide waters. She hears the voices of her children calling her. Some from beneath the deep oceans. Others from strange lands.

She shall gather her children from distant shores and Ethiopia shall rise again.

There was a Gathering of Old Bones. Shall these dry bones live? Yes by Grace and Mercy.

Lost Tribes took in Lost Villages. Red and Black became one flesh. Pursued. Persecuted. Sometimes erased from this land only to resurface in another for in My Father’s House are many Mansions. Father God and Divine Mother call me forth to a plane of existence that the enemy can in no wise enter in.

Scented Sands. Gathered Aromas.

A Portly Golden Breeze scatters cosmic seeds into the oceans breath. Rescue my stolen children from alien Atlantic and Pacific waters.  Yoruba and Jesus Dance together. The Goddess bestows her ritual Female powers. I am renewed. Orishas wash my soul.

Afroid Dreams of Salvation

We speak the language of old royal robes, the talking drums, painted faces, warrior chants…….

The Caramel, Sienna, Midnight Prodigal Daughter returns home. Indigo children reside on Astral planes, valleys, visions, 4th dimensional planets, solar systems, galaxies known only to the Enlightened Ancients.

The Misplaced Children of Africa have returned home. Lost no more. Egypt. Ethiopia. Ghana. Kenya. Nigeria. Mozambique. Togo. Mali. Namibia. Botswana. South Africa. All Nubian Kingdoms claim your Peoples from throughout the Diaspora. Baptize me in the Nile. Black Mother Moses I am Yours.

Thus says the LORD: “Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work, declares the LORD, and they shall come back from the land of the enemy. Jeremiah 31:16

“A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” Matthew 2:18

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2016 WEEK 15

Announcement:  Since WordPress pingbacks are not working properly right now, I would recommend you add a replay with your post link to your challenge entries so you will considered for features.

Name one thing not many people know about you.

I was a Telex Operator at the Reader’s Digest Advertising offices in Manhattan during the mid-1980s.  At the time Ms. Wallace was still living though she stayed in the Pleasantville, NY location. It was a wonderful place to work. For my fellow Baby Boomers you know what a Telex Machine was. As for you young folks ~~ Google it!! LOL!!

If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?

Pay off as many bills as possible and take a vacation somewhere in the Caribbean with my brother Stephen.

Where do you hide junk when people come over?

I don’t get many visitors but when I do they all stay downstairs in the Living Room which is much neater than my bedroom as you can see!! LOL!!  🙂   😀

Complete this sentence:  I want to learn more about …

Photography and learn to speak better Spanish.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Grateful that I got to say Farewell to my co-worker from the Cameroon who went on Maternity Leave. Her baby girl Destiny is due at the end of this month. We have become very close over the last few months as she has no family in America. All her relatives are either in the Cameroon or France. Her Mom will be arriving soon.

I was never able to have children and this young woman is like my daughter. Her baby girl Destiny will be my granddaughter of sorts.  I’m grateful and thankful for her.  A connection to the Motherland. Africa. I’m Thankful to and for many of my African co-workers as I’ve learned so much about the continent of our ancestors over the last eight years.  One day I will make my pilgrimage to the soil from whence my fore-bearers sprang.

Looking forward to next weekend for rest and relaxation.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Celebrated my Japanese girlfriend’s birthday by going to the Buddhist Temple with her. All she wanted was for us to be together on her special day. Happy for her. She was smiling.  God is present everywhere whether it be a Christian Church or a Buddhist Temple.

Got good news from my lawyer on a personal matter which will be resolved in the beginning of May while I’m on vacation! Yesss!!

Grateful for the passage of Paid Family Leave for citizens of New York State. The Law goes into effect Jan. 2018.  A little late for me and Stephen since I plan to retire spring 2018 but I’m happy for all New Yorkers who will benefit from this wonderful Law!!  Hooray!!  Thank you Gov. Andrew Cuomo!!
