Black Friday or Broke Friday?

Stephen as Autism Warrior!!

In the USA we have something called Black Friday which is the Friday after Thanksgiving when Americans give into their greed and bombard the department stores and shopping malls in search of discounts and sales on Christmas gifts. This is one of these Holiday traditions that I wish would go by the wayside as it has nothing to do with Jesus or Christianity.  I could go into how I loathe and despise how Christmas has become commercialized but I’ll leave that for another blog post.

I choose Autism Activism over fear of D.T.  I’ll refer to him as Delirium Tremors, mostly because one night while in the Army I had CQ Duty (CQ is Charge of Quarters) and I received a phone call alerting me that one guy in our unit had the D.T.s Delirium Tremors and that he was being taken to the hospital. Alcoholics get the D.T.s. Never saw the guy again on base or anywhere else for that matter. Referring to the Donald as Delirium Tremors is fitting as he got many to drink his poisoned Kool-Aid and they will probably wind up in the crazy house, jail or disappointed and let down once they realize that this game show host cannot fulfill any of the promises he made to a certain demographic.

Don’t Hate. Donate!

I choose Love. Obviously like on any job some of my co-workers did vote for the Donald. Do I think they are racist? No. Misled. Yes!  Veterans Day I shook their hands and greeted those who are Veterans and those who are not just like the day before Election Day. Hating Dhump supporters will not solve anything. Do No Lower Yourself to that level. Instead either begin your own fundraising campaign or volunteer, support and donate to a Cause you believe in. That’s the best way to handle this situation.

Autism Activism

Rather than feeling powerless I’m mounting a Fundraising Campaign to benefit the two agencies that care for my brother Stephen. I’m also encouraging All Americans and those in other countries to donate to your local and regional Veterans Organizations as well as groups that help animals.

Listening at the Crossroads

Crossroads

Sometimes we are the Crossroads for a person in need. The Crossroads between Life and Death. Health and sickness. Not on brag on myself but it is only God in me. Here is what I mean. Last year a pregnant African co-worker was being bullied by a supervisor. It hurt me to see her crying. I immediately called our Union Rep from Downtown and continued to make a hue and outcry to Shop Stewards plus Human Resources. I was outraged at the inhumane treatment she received. Sad to say the abuse came from certain white female supervisors. You’d think another woman would be compassionate. Not so.

This young lady could have been my daughter carrying my grand-daughter so I had to act. I could have kept my mouth shut but to me being a Christian calls for action. It requires that you stand up for those who for whatever reason cannot stand up for themselves. Plus I gave her my cell number so she could call or text me. I got the other women in the locker room to raise their voices also. Things began to turn around.

Activism is like fire shut up in my bones! My voice will not be silenced! I just can’t leave it alone and I will not leave the battlefield until I see results.

Good News: My African co-worker had a healthy baby girl early April 2016.

Listen

On one of my earlier vacations this year I went to a museum where one of the guards struck up a conversation with me. I too am a museum guard so we had something in common. Feeling at ease this gentleman told me he was 81 years old and still working. He took out his wallet showing me a photo of him as a young man. Then he began to speak of his beloved wife who had passed away about five years before. They had planned their retirement together but the cruelty of death took his dreams away. I did ask him if he had children which he does. Adult children. They encourage him to find someone else but as he said to me that someone else would not be her. The way he lovingly described her touched my heart. Having never been married I could not judge. It was not my place to judge but to listen. Work keeps him alive but he really wants to be reunited with his soul-mate/Life partner. In a way I understood him because my parents were married for 40 years when my Dad died, three years later my Mom joined him. That was their destiny to be reunited once again in Paradise. Sometimes the best thing we can do for people is listen and try to understand, to put yourself in their place. Their feelings are more valid than our opinions.

Compassion

Recently I came to work early as usual and found one of my male co-workers sitting outside the locker room crying. Another co-worker was trying to comfort him. Frightened that maybe he was sick or needed medical help I asked if I should get help. My co-worker assured me No so I too rub our tearful co-worker’s back and gave words of encouragement. I came to find out later that the poor man has colon cancer and that his father had committed suicide. Whoa! Dear Lord!  Immediately I began to pray for him and confided in a few trusted co-workers who believe in pray and who would keep an eye on him. Basically Don’t want him to follow his father’s path.

When at the Crossroads we are at the foot of the Cross

I don’t know why but many times God has put me in the pathway of people at a crossroads. Different races, religions, faiths, ethnicities. Personally even though I was born and raised as a Christian I feel no obligation to force my beliefs on other people. God does the saving. One God. Many Pathways. God created humans. Humans created religions and often barriers but I believe the Lord wants us to be open to all who need us.

My parents were not particularly religious. They were not church goers however I remember the many times I saw my Mom help a neighbor in need, the lady next door who had just lost her husband, kind words & deeds. My Dad who reached out to many family members who needed his help. In return when we needed help neighbors just came over. We did not even have to ask.

When that the God calls me home I want to hear him say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

Are Self-Exploding Beings inwardly Imploding?

Are the self-exploding inwardly imploding?

Not knowing that the seeds of their self-destruction reside quietly inwardly already taking root. Ready to root out fabricated dogmas.
Boston Bomb crushed avian souls flying towards Heaven. Chaos rules the lands. Demonic Fairytale stories being lit up global TV screens.
Carnage Couture is all the rage!!

Socialites debate levels of thinness while screaming crying babies suckle on long dried up teats.

Life continues on in glass castles unfazed by human suffering. Walking Stepford skinny chic walking decorations immobilized shields of Oil dollars. One piece of glittering jewelry could feed and house one thousand lost humanities. Let us trip the light fantasies weaving around hunger, blight and destruction all the while knowing it will never touch our gleaming manors. Golden parachutes always on hand.

Mankind marches on towards dinosaur extinction by our own hands. WinTourist DashKardian superficial fantasies supplicate the masses fill the empty plates providing empty calories while Rome burns. Politics, religion unreasonable fears of contamination. Moon-Skitters thrive on cell division.

Say Their Names!! Never allow their memories to fade!!

Our decision whether, how, & when to escape the matrix.

Are the Self-Exploding inwardly Imploding? Truth, Compassion, Understanding and Victory shall win out over evil, wickedness and animosity!!  For the sacred has now become filled with the filth of the profane. An Outhouse disguised under the mantle of being a Holy Temple.

Soliloquy for Gia Allemand

Soliloquy to  Gia Allemand

Ladies, Should you find yourself hospital or bed rest sick; should you lose your job or your hours are reduced and that fool you call a man is offering no financial support and still wants you to cook, clean and have sex something is wrong with the whole picture. Get that male’s shoes out from under your bed.

Yesterday I overheard a conversation between two 20-somethings. One young lady was pouring out her heart to her girlfriend that she is working, getting ready to return to college for another semester, doing all the housework including ironing his shirts, more or less being this man’s personal servant and sex slave. As she was telling her story I could tell the young woman had reached her limit. She refused to iron his shirts anymore and wanted him to carry his weight otherwise she would leave. He responded that if she left the relationship was over. With the support of her understanding girlfriend she was drawing strength to leave this one-sided relationship.

Trauma Drama
Trauma Drama

In her words I saw myself in the last year with my abusive ex-boyfriend. At the time I was in my 40s but like these two young women I realized what these type men really want is a combination of their Mama and a hoe. The two ladies were white so Sisters take note, pretty much all men Black, white, brown, etc… eventually cause problems. Baby boys all. Breaking up is very emotional for women because you want the relationship to work but relationships only work if both parties are invested and respect one another.

Meantime, To the Left, to the Left, everything you own in a box to the Left.” – Beyonce. Git to steppin’ and don’t let the door hit you where the dog shoulda bit you! You and I ain’t got time for no foolishness!!

Bonnie Raitt – I Can’t Make You Love Me

Gia Allemand, a sister in the struggle from Queens, like me. I was once in the dark. I stayed with him for seven years wanting the relationship to work, fear of being alone since I knew I was aging. There are many reasons women stay so I reserve judgment. Even when my ex was especially cruel and violent I still wanted to stay with him hoping things would work out but they never did. Only when stuff got really bad and I thought he might injure or kill me did I ask God to remove him. He left Thanksgiving Day 2007 and a weight was lifted off my shoulders physically but I still deal with problems of being unworthy or inadequate.

It is a never ending battle and the main reason why I finally gave up on men, dating and relationships last year. Domestic violence and emotional abuse have lingering problems that take years to fix. I’m still a work in progress trying to regain my self-confidence. Even after all these years I still have a lot of self-doubt. My heart goes out to all women of all ages and races in the battle to regain you.  Sweet Gia, I hope in your decision to leave this earthly plane that your burdened spirit is now at rest. Truly I wish you had lived but my prayer is that through your battle other women will get the help that they so desperately need.

Gia, like you I felt him not just saying but through his cruelty to me, repeatedly communicating over and over, “I Don’t Love you Anymore.”

As my Dad used to say, “Deborah, There are more fish in the ocean.”  Alas for you my poor girl this was it.  His words were you’re final breaking point.

Gia, the Bible speaks of renewing our minds. That renewal takes more than prayer. It is prayer, meditation, therapy, family and friends.  However I know when I was in my 20s the slap in the face, the betrayal of the end of a relationship feels like the end of the world. I suppose for me being in my 40s and living through a disastrous love affair I had a better perspective on life.  After months and years of verbal and physical abuse I just wanted the relationship to end. Finally I removed my rose colored glasses. Dawn ever slowly was breaking. This year light has come and deliverance is nigh.  We are all Wounded Healers.

I’m the type of woman who is loyal, faithful, and who will love to the bitter end, however these days I determine the end not the man. I will no longer be the sacrificial lamb. Gia Allemand your story and many other stories will serve as the first step toward wholeness.

John 5:1-8

New King James Version (NKJV)

A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda,[a] having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.[b]5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

Rest in Peace.
