I tweeted it but wondered why the proposed law needs to have this initiative funded by employee contributions and neither employer nor state contributions.
Similar to insurance, pension and unemployment. Workers contribute a small amount and when you need it the money comes back to you. That’s the way things work. Right now I need Paid FMLA to become a reality and to stop my employer from abusing me every time I take a day off to care for my brother. As long as my taxes go to a good cause I’m willing to contribute.
True but I still think it is unfair that billions go to finance wars in other countries whereas employees like you are unable to care for their siblings for lack of proper social initiatives
Good point. However I must work within the American government system such as it is. Hopefully more Americans will rise up, stop being apathetic and get on the bandwagon for positive construction change that will help All Americans lead better lives.
I hope so too and commend you for your unfailing determination spurred by your love for Steven. He is a lucky man to have you as a sister.
