Share Your World – January 8, 2018

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

When I lived at home with my parents I always took baths because the shower was broken.  Then while I was in the Army Showers became the only choice.  No bathtubs in the barracks.  Since I got out in 1981 I just do showers most of the time.  Normally I only take baths because I’m sick or in pain.  Bubble baths are soothing as are Epsom Salt baths. Both help the arthritis and joint pain.

What do you do to make a living or during the day? If you are retired what mostly occupies your day? Or if you are a student what are you studying?

I am a Museum Security Guard who is looking forward to retirement this year.

Is there a stuffed animal in your bedroom?

Yes. At various times several.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Inspired by the late Great author Gabriel Garcia Marquez as my muse I made good progress on a story I’m composing.
Scored two 2 tickets for Stephen and I to go see the Black Panther movie at BAM on Saturday, February 17th. BAM stands for the Brooklyn Academy of music. For much of the month of February BAM will not only be showing the Black Panther film, but there will also be a showing of prior previous Black Superheroes and a Black Comic con.

For those of you outside the United States, February is Black History month.

Stephen and I will be engaging in some Cosplay.  Stephen will be the Black Panther and I will be the Eartha Kitt version of Cat Woman.

Evicted

Evicted

Abandoned ~~ Unwanted | Tossed aside

When you own nothing, you are nothing.

Just piles of clothes. Discarded furniture and hurriedly packing to beat the City Marshals lock on your front door.

Belongings helter skelter across 3 1/2 rooms. Rooms that no longer belong to you because rent unpaid.

One tends to lose people and things unexpectedly.

1st Dad died. Then Mom.  Pieces of Me were lost along the way.

The Little Cleaning Woman me took one look at the fake Christmas tree and ornaments then proclaimed, Into the Trash with that Shit! There are no more celebrations for people like you. People always in transition. Always in flux.  When you were forcibly transitioned out of your American Dream job then your life became the American Nightmare.

I am an Anachronism to my time.

Happy Stories

People like Happy Stories.

Fake. Phoney and Make Believe are the order of the day.  Hocus Pocus

Eyes 1/4 Open. 3/4 Closed.

Pollyanna and Rebecca of Sunnybrook farm are it’s painted on smile leaders.

As for me I break bread with my demons and we sup together. Over the years they have become my closest friends and allies because they remind me of what is real.

That you can never escape from the past no matter how fast or where you run. The past always catches up to you letting you know that you will never be released from its thorny grip.

Does the past have a place to return? Will it be cast into a herd of swine? No. It can only return to whence it came. You.

Nearly everyday a long drawn out Struggle.

Despair becomes the norm.
So make peace with the darkness for unlike friends and family it will always be there.

For you.

Life is a Fantasy waiting to end. Rebirth? Who knows?

Not all stories have happy endings and storms rarely do.
I see the lynchings, floggings, whippings, beatings, drowning, and rapes as though it were yesterday. Because it always is Yesterday.

Fall from Grace

1ANGEL Gabriel

Fall from Grace

We are All Fallen Angels

Awaiting our Replacement Wings Home

Broken Angels awaiting repairs

Living fractured Lives Under the stairs

Broken Rib Compositions.

Melted Molten Sun burnt Icarus no longer flying high. You should never laugh at the Sun.

Who are the Guardians for the Ministers of Peace? Where and when will they appear?  Is there no shoulder for we who have offered our shoulders wet with tears?  We seek our Lighthouse out of the storm.

Like you I too am lost. Wandering 40 years in the Wilderness. Every day looking for manna from Heaven. I’m No Prophet, Messiah or Savior.  Only a fractured fragmented human. I am only a mirage in the merciless sun of endless desert.

My best friends are the birds and beasts of the field.

Save your sermons. No sweet sounding incantations. Searching for the Root of Conversation. Do not weep for the lost. For I await the baptism of dirt.

The Queen of Heaven Welcomes Me Home.

Jeremiah 12:5

New International Version (NIV)

God’s Answer

“If you have raced with men on foot
and they have worn you out,
how can you compete with horses?
If you stumble in safe country,
how will you manage in the thickets by[b] the Jordan?
