Preach Sister!! This needs to be told!!
Mothers of the Movement!! Stand strong!! We will prevail!!
At the Democratic National Convention held July 26, 2016, nine mothers appeared on the stage. Those nine were:
Sybrina Fulton, mother of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin;
Gwen Carr, mother of 42-year-old Eric Garner;
Lezley McSpadden, mother of 18-year old Mike Brown;
Lucia McBath, mother of 17-year-old Jordan Davis;
Wanda Johnson, mother of 22-year old Oscar Grant;
Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, mother of 15-year old Hadiya Pendleton;
Annette Nance-Holt, mother of 16-year old Blair Holt;
Maria Hamilton, mother of 31-year old Dontré Hamilton.
Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of 28-year old Sandra Bland
The nine mothers named above represent Mothers of the Movement because their children’s names helped energize the Black Lives Matter Movement and Black Lives Matter network. Their goal is aimed at enacting better gun control measures, repeal laws that might shield vigilantes from prosecution, and increase transparency and accountability for officers who kill…

Share Your World – 2016 Week 31
With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world which may not always match our reality.
What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in. And what Country do you live?
I Love New York City. The energy!! The Vibe! Not always the weather but I Love New York for the diversity and variety of activities. Many of these activities are FREE!! NYC has many services for the poor, disabled and needy. Also the availability of transportation. Pretty much the buses and subways run 24/7/365. I don’t drive anymore because of my eyesight. If I Lived in the country I’d be stuck in the house because I’d have to wait on somebody to take me out. So Boring.
Would you rather wear clown shoes every day or a clown wig every day?
Wig. My walking is labored because of arthritis so if I had to wear Clown Shoes I’d be tripping and falling constantly.
Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?
What do you do to make a living or during the day? If you are retired what mostly occupies your day? Or if you are a student what are you studying?
I’m a writer/photographer who during the day masquerades as a museum security guard. Looking forward to retiring in Autumn 2018!!
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
The ability to Blog. I’ve been sick for at least the last few weekends and two days last week but at least I was able to Blog. I look forward to getting better. Hopefully.
The Clown Shoes are from Cee’s Blog!
An Oldie but still a Goodie. So Nice to ReBlog Twice!!
My heart is composing a goodly matter; I speak of the verses which I have made concerning the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
It was in the early times that the Priestess of Papyrus placed the Holy writ before me and bade me write the vision and make it plain so that our people who read may run with the vision. You hold the pen of a ready writer. Hieroglyphics danced before me then carried me to the Temple for sanctification. Pierced with the hollow reeds that rose up from the Nile filled with the ancestors’ blood the Scrivener was born.
Books bit me as a child. I was infected with wordplay and phrases began to drip from my lips and out through my fingers. A light went on in my brain and I was never the same yet all the better for books piercings. Dewey Decimal was a Vampire more worthy than Dracula.
Chosen by the Muses who have awakened me early in the…

Had a girlfriend like this. She has been downgraded to associate/acquaintance.
Recently something seriously annoyed me.
A friend of mine shared that he was sick on facebook. Rather than being met with compassion, he was told stories. Stories of how awful the condition he had was, & stories of “I went through that in 2013. Here’s what happened to me.” No one asked how he was feeling, what did the doctor say or even said they hoped he would feel better soon. I was the only one who said these things & that I was praying for him.
I’m not saying that to brag. I’m saying this because it bothers me that there was so little compassion & concern! This selfishness is so typical, even among non-narcissists.
Matthew 24:12 says, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,” (NIV) We are seeing this in droves today & it’s very sad!
There is so much happening in everyone’s…
