A kiss is always a good start, a visit at St Pancras in London could start that way.
a statue of an intimate pose by the world renowned sculptor Paul Day.

The inspiration comes from “Restlessjo” and her “Monday walk” themes.
A small walk in surroundings of London at first view, when arriving by trains.

St Pancras is the international railway station in the city of London.

Two out of three special St Pancras sights.
The clock, the statue of the two lovers, the third is the Betjeman statue.

This is the “official” place for meetings too.

Soulful Strut J Train Subway Line ~~ Brooklyn, New York

Soulful Strut along Broadway/J Subway Train Line, Brooklyn, New York.

#Brooklyn    #SoulfulStrut

Today’s Soulful Strut took me from Rockaway Avenue over to Broadway along where the J subway train runs over to Lexington which is just a couple of blocks beyond Gates Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.

So far today I’ve had a yogurt, banana, and am now having my steamed broccoli & cauliflower mix. While I was out for my Soulful Strut I stopped at the grocery store to buy some healthy food items. Purchased two Coconut Waters.  Walking exercise is a wonderful thing!

Veteran’s Day

Veteran’s Day

Happy Veterans Awareness Month!!  In the United States Veterans Day is this Wednesday November the 11th a day where we Honor those who served our beloved country America. Remember to Thank the Vets in your Life.  Give special shout-outs to Women Veteran’s who are often ignored.  Thank you!

Reason why I’m giving Special Shout-Outs to all the Women Veterans out there!! Several years ago when I was still living in Queens I attended a Sunday worship service in the church across from my home and during the course of the service the Pastor asked all the Veterans in the congregation to stand. Of course I stood up. He was shocked to see a Woman Veteran! He actually said Wow a Woman Vet! Now this took place about 4 or 5 years ago. Mind you he was and still is a great pastor but it underlies the problem of the church and women and in particular Women Veterans. It should not come as a surprise to have Women Vets in your congregation. Women have been serving in the military from America’s inception. Church Leaders, it’s time to recognize, acknowledge, honor and salute Our Women in the Military!

I give special Honor and Thanks to the Veterans in my family who have passed on. First and foremost my Dad Edward Gordon Palmer who served during the Korean War and my Great, great Grandfather William Henry Halstead, Connecticut Twenty-Ninth (Colored) Regt. C. V. INFANTRY who served in the Civil War.  Proud to be a descendant of a 29th Colored Regiment Warrior!!

The Daily Post ~~ Right to Brag| Stephen Vincent Palmer

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Right to Brag.”

Tell us about something you (or a person close to you) have done recently (or not so recently) that has made you really, unabashedly proud.

My brother Stephen Vincent Palmer!!  Back in 1963 when my parents took him to the doctors to see why he was not speaking those so-called medical professionals wrote him off as being “emotionally disturbed”!!  How a then two-year old could be emotionally disturbed is beyond me but my parents said No we are Not going to institutionalize our son!  During the 1960s nobody heard of or used the term Autism. Children like Stephen were put away institutions like Creedmor and Willowbrook where they were beaten, starved, abused and lay on the floor in their own waste.  Sometimes people would lock “retarded” children away in their attics because of guilt and shame.  My parents refused to listen to the doctors, took Stephen home and raised him as best they could. Whatever was in his ability to do he did it. Stephen had household chores just like me.  My mother Mable Elizabeth Palmer suffered terribly because ignorant people blamed her for Stephen’s disabilities. I’m sure she cried many days and nights never quite sure how she could best help her son she loved so much. Mothers of disabled children carry heavy burdens. But at least Mom had Dad and together made a road where none had existed before.

All the while my parents Edward & Mable Palmer searched for what few programs and services existed in the 1960s for developmentally disabled children.  Thanks Mom & Dad for never giving up on Stephen.  I follow in their humble path.  Truly Stephen is my and God’s prize and because of him I have pride and joy!

But God said Not So!!  I have a plan and a purpose for my Beloved son Stephen Vincent Palmer!

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

For those of you who have a developmentally disabled child or sibling keep in mind no matter what others say know that your loved one is made in God’s image and likeness.  Special Needs means special in the Kingdom of God.  My brother is the kindest, most caring and compassionate person I know on this earth. I am proud to be called Stephen’s Sister.

Stephen if you were to ever leave my side and if God should call you home before me truly I’d be lost without you. Dearest Brother you mean the world to me. I Love you so much! ❤

LOST WITHOUT YOU / BEBE & CECE WINANS

Stephen I would lay down my life for yours. Your happiness is my #1 concern and goal in life.  Ours is an Addictive Love!
