Come to the River. Wash My Soul.

So many ancestries run through my veins. Africa, Native American, Ireland course throughout my circulatory tributaries. All merging into one.

I take the Warm Spring healing waters from Gaia’s womb. Water. Rain. Storms. Floods. Tidal Waves. Tsunamis. Showers. Oceans. Seas. Lakes. Ponds. Water possesses the powers of creation and destruction. River and Mountain Goddess meet. Fresh moving waters provide life. Stagnant still waters harbor seeds of death. Tears of sorrow, sadness and grief. Tears of joy, happiness and relief.

We create man-made fountains in the city to satiate our thirsty souls.

We spend the first nine months of our lives in our Mother’s amniotic waters.

Our bodies are approximately composed of 70% water.

Health officials recommend drinking eight glasses of water a day to replenish what we lose through sweating, excretion and elimination.

Water in most faiths is a method of cleansing and renewal.

Jesus was baptized in the River Jordan. (Matthew 3:13)

Most Christians are baptized at some point in their lives.

In Buddhism one of the goals is to wash away the illusions and delusions of Ego.

Hindus after cremation often scatter their Loved ones ashes into the sacred River Ganges.

At the end of the song they call upon Oshun, West African Orisha of Love and the Sweet Waters from the World Goddess. The Orishas call to my ancestral soul beckoning me to the indigenous beliefs of the Mother Land. I hear their cries mixed with those of my Native American ancestors calling me to return. Return Home.

Kudos and Cheers for Pope Francis!!

Pope Francis Takes 12 Refugees Back to Vatican After Trip to Greece

Proving that the Children of Abraham can Live in Peace! Also we must help each other no matter what race, skin color, ethnic group or religion! Pope Francis is showing the way!

This is what Jesus would do!!

Just because one group of people do something evil does not make all followers of that religion or a certain race evil.

If we applied the same logic to all the mass murders in America for the last 12 years we would have to ban all white man. The murderers of those children in a Ct. school a few Christmas’ ago, the person who shot worshipers at a Bible Study last year, the man who shot up the movie theater plus countless other mass killings were all white men!  Now does that make all white males murderers?  No! Of course not!

There are extremists in every religion. After all the United States still has the Ku Klux Klan, the Christian Identity Movement and the American Nazi Party. All of which claim to be Christians.  I guess if they met Jesus they would lynch him also since Jesus was Jewish!

We need more Love, Peace, Understanding and Compassion in the world. Let’s stop making people into stereotypes just because they are a different faith than you or a different color than you!

Help ~~ The Parable of the Good Samaritan

Help

I believe this Help Prompt is fitting for Good Friday as Christians worldwide acknowledge Jesus dying on the Cross for all humans and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday.  This sacrifice is the greatest Help I know.

I cannot say or define help any better than the story of the Good Samaritan as related in Luke 10:25-37.  Here is Jesus relating this parable.

Luke 10:25-37

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?

27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’[a] and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’[b]

28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed,[c] he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”

37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

A City on a Rock

2 Corinthians 4:7 (New King James Version)

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, which the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

“God will not have his work be manifest by cowards,”-

A City on a Rock

Matthew 7:24-27 English Standard Version (ESV)

Build Your House on the Rock

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 King James Version (KJV)

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
