How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

People tell me I look like I’m in my 40s so I would maybe be around age 42.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?

I know where my umbrella is because I hang it up in my bedroom in the same spot all the time.

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?

Quiet time alone. By nature I am a Solitary.

Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend  to have in common.

My girlfriend La’Verne and I are both sensitive short, petite, pretty Black Women who are family oriented. We both enjoy dancing we can give the guys a run for their money on the dance floor.

La’Verne watches over her elderly mother and has a beautiful intelligent hardworking adult daughter and of course I have my brother Stephen whom I adore!!

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

As I’m running behind with this weekly challenge I’m grateful that the first week in March I was on vacation and I got to spend time with my brother Stephen even though it was freezing cold outside. Grateful that Snowstorm Stella which battered NYC is over. Me and snow don’t get along and I’m NOT friends with snow’s cousins ice and sleet either.

Looking forward to Spring, warmer weather and more opportunities to be outside either at NYC’s various Botanic Gardens, parks and just walking around taking in sunshine, warmth, outdoor activities and people watching.

black-or-green-olivesEver ran out of gas in your vehicle?

No. Never. When I was able to drive I always made sure that I had a full tank of gas.

Which are better: black or green olives?

Neither one. Olives are too salty and I cannot eat them. High Blood Pressure. Pass the grapes or blueberries instead.

If you were a great explorer, what would you explore?

Africa. For me it would be like going home since that is where my ancestors are from. Not so much explore as it would be a Pilgrimage. Return to the Motherland. Fortunately I’ve made many friends from Africa via Blogging so I will go to Africa some day.

Quotes List: At least three of your favorite quotes?

Habakkuk 2:2

King James Version (KJV)

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it.

Proverbs 4:7

King James Version (KJV)

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

And anything my parents used to say.  Here are three from my Dad Edward G. Palmer:

I complained because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.

It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

Get something in your head not just on your head.

And from my Mom Mable Palmer:

If you mess up. You clean up.

God don’t like Ugly.

What goes around comes around.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Grateful that today is my Birthday and God has allowed me to see another year of life. Happy to be 58!! Looking forward to my upcoming vacation starting Friday. Planning to spend time with my brother Stephen and relax.

When you cut something with scissors, do you move your jaw (as if you were about to chew)?

No.

Do you chew your pens and pencils?

No. They don’t taste good.

Are you a collector of anything?  If so what?

I used to collect African-American figurines and when I had my own place. I had a Curio Cabinet to display them but they are all in storage now since my space is way too small to be collecting anything.

What size is your bed?

Full size. Big enough for me and my cat Sylvester.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Okay I’m a week late answering this Share Your World. Shows you my hectic life of commuting plus spending hours at work so I’m backtracking.

Good Weather and warm temps. After that horrible disgusting snowstorm last week the temps went into the 50s & 60s. Much better.

Looking forward to my Birthday, Monday, Feb. 27th.

574aeef5778cd-imageDo you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?

I sleep with comforters and/or blankets so once I make the bed I don’t get under my sheets.

Have you stolen a street sign before?

Before? Does this mean I should be in the habit of stealing street signs? This is a weird question. In New York they are so high up off the ground plus they are securely anchored/bolted in place it would be near to impossible to steal one unless it fell to the ground after getting hit by a car, bus or truck. Anyway with all the snow, ice, sleet and freezing rain why in the heck would I be outside in bad weather, climbing up a pole to steal a street sign??

Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?

I don’t cut coupons. I don’t have time since I spend long hours on my job. Most stores have Rewards Cards in which the discounts are already included. I use those Discount Reward Cards at the grocery store, Petco, Beauty stores, and Walgreens, Rite-Aid and Duane Reade.

Do you have freckles?

No.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Grateful to have made it safely through the nasty snow, sleet, ice, freezing rain and below freezing temps!!  Looking forward to warmer weather.

Regarding your fridge, is it organized or a mess inside?

Being that both my room-mate and I are single there is very little in the fridge, unless my room-mate has one of his dinner parties and unlike the photo Sylvester does not get inside the fridge. Usually our fridge contains condiments, yogurt, Snapple, maybe beer or wine, and some leftover Chinese food, but again no cat.

Do you prefer your food separated or mixed together?

I suppose you are referring to the fridge. Since there is very little inside it does not make much difference. If however you mean on my plate I prefer to keep my foods separate not mixed together.

Do you prefer reading coffee table books (picture), biographies, fiction, non-fiction, educational?

I suppose I pretty much like all types of books unless they are too technical or involve romance. I don’t like romance books. Way too creepy, stupid, corny and unrealistic.  My favorite genres are Horror, Murder Mysteries, History and some Sci Fi.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?

Pretty much all of my body is telling me to sleep. I’m a sleep deprived insomniac.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Being that the U.S. is in political and social upheaval I suppose I’m glad to have gotten through the week. The Muslim Ban has gravely and adversely affected my Muslim co-workers and the functions of my museum workplace. Basically people are living in fear and uncertainty. Given that you don’t know what horror will next come out of the Oval House it’s best not to look forward. America is in total chaos. We are on extremely shaky ground.
