Japanese Purification Ceremony & Early Birthday

Went to my Japanese girlfriend’s home for a Japanese Buddhist Purification Ceremony. The American Christian equivalent is a House Blessing or Housewarming without the gifts. Enjoyed the chanting, rituals and fellowship. My girlfriend and her husband are great hosts and a lovely time was had by all who attended. The Woman Minister who officiated the ceremony was great!

My girlfriend also surprised me with a delicious Birthday cake!! My Birthday is tomorrow so I was it was pure Joy that she thought of my Special day on her special home purification day. I am truly Blessed to have good friends from all races, faiths, countries, religions and ethnic groups!! Oh Happy Day!! At the stroke of midnight which will usher in Feb. 27th I will turn 57!! Woohoo!!

Rare Earth – I Just Want to Celebrate

The guests get to take home and eat the food offerings after the ceremony is over. Of course having several Americans in attendance including her husband who is Jewish American my girlfriend also supplied a very tasty luncheon which we all enjoyed.

I have been a Member of and attending the Shinnyo-en Buddhist Temple in New York for nearly three years. It has helped me develop spirituality and even deepened my Christianity. Eventually at some point in time I will travel to Japan with my girlfriend to visit all the Shinnyo-en Temples.

I was going to write about Stacy Dash and other like mind thinkers. I was going to add my half a cent about the Oscar’s since no one gives a damn what I think on that matter one way or another. I never watch the Oscar’s I never know 3/4ths of the movies nominated or the winners so I don’t really care. Honestly I still don’t. Black Hollywood shouldn’t care either. The blacks in the movie industry get paid and will continue to get paid because the bottom line is the number of zeros on the check.

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Laundry. Time consuming and I like to avoid the local neighborhood weirdos. Fortunately in my neighborhood most Laundromats have a Drop Off/Pick Up Service. I make use of this.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?

My feet, stomach, back, knees in fact anything below the waist. Mostly my body tells me to sleep but I’m having a working vacation so now is my time to catch up and do all the tasks that I can’t do while I’m at work therefore I ignore my bodily pains in order to be productive. Working on several projects that involve caring for my brother Stephen. As an Autism Advocate & Activist there is never a day off.

Would you rather have a two-bedroom apartment in a big city of your choosing or a mansion in the country side in the state or country where you currently live?

A Two-Bedroom apartment in the heart of New York City ~~ The Big Apple!! Since I don’t and can’t drive due to poor eyesight I need to be near public transportation, Veterinarian, My Own Personal Doctors & Dentist, entertainment, banks, grocery stores, Drug stores & all the amenities of Life.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Basically I’m glad last week is over with. I’ve had a respiratory and ear infection plus congestion complete with little or no sleep. So I’ve been tired and miserable since Feb. 10th. Looking forward to my Birthday on Feb. 27th!! Woohoo!!
