One of many sayings that I grew up with. My parents, grandmother and Aunts had an expression for every situation.

You got more problems than Carter has Liver pills.

If you lay down with dogs you’ll get up with fleas.

Birds of a feather flock together.

I complained because I had no Shoes until I Met a man who had no feet.

It’s better to Light one candle than to curse the darkness.

You mess up. You clean up.

There’s no fool like an old fool.

No this axiom has nothing to do with Jay Z whose given surname is Carter. In fact neither Jay Z nor his wife Beyonce were even born!

However Jay Z did record a song called 99 Problems.
