Retirement

Retired

After wandering in the wilderness of the rat race I’m Free!

My Change has come! Hallelujah and Thank you Jesus!

Giving All the Honor, Glory and Praise to My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Praise God for bringing me through a long and difficult journey!

Below is the cake my coworkers got me for my retirement last Sunday.

As of today Friday, August 17th I am officially retired from the museum!

Hooray!

No more setting plans or goals. In fact I will probably be going Off Grid for a long time. It’s time to disconnect and withdraw. Walking away is a good thing.

A return to self. A return to the days of the 1960s and 1970s when I was at my happiest and most joyful.

Yesterday was my Last day at the job. Only half the shift. I felt an exhilaration and excitement that I have not felt since 1977 when I graduated from high school and went into the Army. What a great feeling of celebration and a reason to dance!

Thank God I’m Fabulous!

I’m Fabulous because I’m Golden!

  1. Congratulations on your retirement and more importantly for your service. I hope you can enjoy and afford the next phase of your life without the need to go to work every day.

    1. Yes. Life begins with retirement! I still will probably do some part time job for extra money but mostly rest, relax and spend time with Stephen. Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty that I’m Free at last!

  2. Congratulations on your retirement. You have now entered the part of life of choices that are much different than when working. Hope that enjoy!

    1. I will enjoy my freedom. I don’t plan on being too busy because I tend to keep to myself. I’m an introvert and don’t enjoy socializing. Always a Loner yet never lonely. My goal is escape and reducing my digital footprint. I aspire to be a hermit and a recluse.

  3. Oh Wow! now maybe you begin that writing career.

      1. Thanks. I will still continue with my writing especially my poetry. There will be times that I combine the two artwork and writing.
I enjoy your posts on health. One of the reasons I took early retirement was stress. Eventually I will get a part time job for extra money but for now rest and relaxation.

    1. Please check out my Photography blog Roaming Urban Gypsy. That’s where I feature my photography and artwork. In fact I have an opportunity to have my own art show next year around spring so all my efforts will be directed to my artwork.
