The Dance of Love

Boyhood

Together in Life and into Eternity. As cancer ravaged his body every day he asked for his Beloved. She was first in his mind in the morning and last thought at Night before sleep. Only until Daddy was reassured that the Love of his life would be cared for did he take his final Earthly breath. Then not able to bear her suffering from cancer he begged Jesus to be allowed to escort her home.

On August 1998 Jesus said Yes. Descending into the hospital room Edward said Mable come with me. Taking his hand they ascended towards Home. Passing through the Gates of Heaven at once 25 again. Young, Healthy and in Love.

I’m committed to changing the negative narrative and stereotypes of Black Men and Black Fathers.

Don’t drink the Koolaid and Don’t believe the hype about Black men pushed by the media. STOP Watching Love and hip hop plus those Stupid Wives TV Shows! Not real life! All Lies! Fake!

For all the Men Who step in when a child’s Father has died. Salute!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY IN HEAVEN DADDY!! WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ALWAYS! LOVE, DEBORAH & STEPHEN

My Dad was everything a man should be as a husband and Father. Rough times when any lesser man would have left my Dad stepped up to the challenges of life and carried us through. If it had not been for Daddy Stephen and I would not be here today. He raised us to be honest, hardworking, caring and thoughtful. For 36 years I was blessed to call Edward Gordon Palmer my Dad. The lessons he taught me are still in my heart, soul and spirit. Color him Father.  Color him Love.  #FathersDay

Happy Father’s Day to all my Blog Family and Friends. Dads enjoy your special day. For those of you who have lost your Dads let good memories flow through your day. Men for those whose Father was not a part of your life or was not active in your life be the Father to your children that you wanted for yourself when you were a child. Be Loving, caring, compassionate Father to your children whether you’re with the mother or not.  Kids need two parents. Fathers are an important part of a child’s life. Don’t allow anger with your ex- to spoil your relationship with your kids. Men your kids need you. Not things. Not sneakers. Not iPhones, laptops, tablets, etc…  Yes they do need food, clothing, and a place to live but the best you can give to your children is your time. Laugh with your kids. Make jokes. Hug them. Treasure those funny little drawings and misshapen gifts from shop class. Most of all tell your kids you Love them not just through words but by action. My best memories of my Dad are all the weekends he took us out to give my mother a break. I don’t always remember the details of the trips

Proverbs 13:22 English Standard Version (ESV) 22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children…….

My Dad was that Good Man. He fought the good fight of faith. Daddy persevered during his short stay on this earth always putting his family first and taking joy in our accomplishments. An inheritance is more than money, more than genetics or DNA. Our Dad left us an Inheritance of morals, values, good character, faith in ourselves, love and concern for our fellow humans and animals. Yes, speaking for my brother as well as myself, Stephen and I are truly proud to be our Dad’s Legacy into this world. Edward G. Palmer ~ Feb. 11, 1930 – May 13, 1995.

Edward G. Palmer was everything that his name Edward embodies: Edward is an English given name. It is derived from Old English words ead (meaning ‘wealth’, ‘fortune’ or ‘prosperous’) and weard (meaning ‘guardian’ or ‘protector’).

My Dad Believed in us!! And today my brother Stephen and I are all the better for Daddy’s faith in his children!

Tears of sadness for I will never on this earth Dance with my Father again. Daddy our next dance is in Heaven.

Our Dad was the Guardian, Protector and Provider for our family. A Loving Husband and Father. Dad’s middle name was Gordon which means “Beloved”. Truly he was a Beloved Father always looking out for his family.
