Snowstorm Juno NYC. These were taken within a two block radius of my house. Fulton Street, Rockaway Avenue & Hull Street between 5:30 am and 6:00am. The MTA worker shoveling in front of my train station probably thought I was nuts. I told him that I was taking photos of the closed subway station for my job.
Yes I will brave almost any weather for my art!! Feeling exhilarated and invigorated!!

I have never lived in an area which has had extreme weather. Sure I have had my share of flight delays and reschedules but you say NYC has shut down, has it literally?
Yes. The Big Apple is down for the count. Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio shut down the entire MTA which includes the subways, buses, rails, etc… at 11 pm yesterday. All non-emergency vehicles were order off the roads. Schools, churches, most business, darn near everything is closed. One good thing to come out of the Juno Blizzard is I don’t have to go to work. Heck!! I can’t. No transportation. Home getting into some Hot Chocolate.
How many people do you live with ?
I live in a brownstone. My room-mate and I have the 1st and 2nd floors. Our Landlord lives on the 3rd floor. The two furry people aka cats live with me.
I like cats 🙂
Meow from Sylvester and Weezer.
🙂
oh my – stay warm – stay safe – and whew – these are awesome photos – you are a brave artist !
Thanks! Or a crazy artist depending on how you look at it! LOL!! 😀 🙂 😉
both!
😀 😉
Stay warm and safe Deborah Ann!
I did not go to work yesterday even though my job demanded that I come in. I will probably be punished but my health and safety are more important than the job. The workplace worships the dollar not God. Bosses don’t care about their employees.
Civil disobedience
Civil disobedience is the active, professed refusal to obey certain laws, demands, or commands of a government, or of an occupying international power. Civil disobedience is sometimes, though not always, defined as being nonviolent resistance.
Unfortunately with many companies the $ really does take precedence. Sad, but true my friend!
Yes. The working class is no longer appreciated or honored. Our country is in a very bad condition. The Beautiful people are worshiped and those in the trenches are despised.
Too much snow… Burrr. Hugs!
Teagen, I feel the same. Even though I was born and raised in New York now that I’m older snow, ice, sleet and freezing temps are becoming too much for me. I have arthritis so it is very difficult for me to get around in cold wet temps or on snow and ice. I plan to take an early retirement in about 3 years and am scouting for warm places in the United States to live that have good Public Transportation. I’m thinking Texas, either Houston or Austin.
Thank you for visiting, I would not be where I am today if I didn’t share my experience, strength and hope, I have to give to keep, I thank you again
Sheldon
