Times Past: Bicycles
Baby Boomer- St. Albans, Queens, New York city
My brother Stephen sometime in the 1960s on his Tricycle. Stephen and I grew up in St. Albans, Queens located in New York city. I had a red bike but I don’t have any photos of me on the bike. However I did find this great photo of Stephen on his Tricycle. Our Dad Edward Palmer used took the picture.
With my poor eyesight the only bikes I ride now are exercise bikes.
Being that Stephen lives in a Group Home Residence for adults with Autism his bike riding is also limited to gym exercise bikes.

Thanks for joining in Deborah. That is a fantastic photograph of your brother on his tricycle. I have never seen a tricycle (other than the one in my photo) with a running board for a pillion to stand on. Ours was bought in New York as would yours have been so perhaps they were quite common there at the time. Stephen’s was very flash. Thank you for sharing that with us. I may be wishing I too had stuck to exercise bikes but time will tell.
Thanks for posting this wonderful excellent photography challenge. It was fun. I enjoy seeing people riding their bikes in the parks. As for me I will keep to the stationary bikes! LOL! 🚲🚲🚲🚲
You’re welcome Deborah. I loved seeing your bike. Someone told me of their bike with a banana seat. the mind boggles. They didn’t have a photograph though but word memories are good too. You’ll be safer on your stationary model.
I remember the banana seat bikes from the 1970s. These bikes were mostly for boys.

Awesome photo with matching outfit and all!
Thanks. Our parents enjoyed coordinating our outfits. Stephen is so cute. Hard to believe that my baby brother is now 57 years old! Time flies!
