I Love New York!! The Big Apple!!

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “We Built This City.”

What do you love most about the city / town / place that you live in?

The Energy of the People and the variety of cultures, ethnicity, faiths, foods and belief systems. Accents, costumes, clothing, all sartorial splendor that does not end or begin with 7th Avenue or the Fashion Police.  The fast pace of the Uptown, Downtown & Midtown. The flow along Jamaica Avenue, Merrick Blvd., Fulton Street, Nostrand Avenue and Broadway Junction.  From Fashion to Finance New York has got it Going On!!

New York is the Greatest City in the World as evidenced by Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel and Jay Z!!

The Big Apple!! Take a bite and you won’t be disappointed!!

What do you like the least about it?

The MTA aka Mass Transit System. The fare keeps going up and the service gets worse. Buses and subway trains take longer and longer to show up and when they do they are jammed packed with commuters!

If you were mayor, what would be the most important problem you’d tackle? How would you tackle it?

Reduce the fare back down to $1.00. Increase the amount of subway trains and buses. Hire more transit workers to operate and clean the trains and buses also add extra transit police for safety, especially when coming home late at night from work. school or worship service.

Vipernian Visitors from the Planet Reptillius

Vipernians vs Felinious Max

Medusa
Medusa

Normal pets like cats and dogs are no longer in vogue. At least not this neighborhood! These folks got snakes! And they got the nerve and audacity to take Mr. Boa Constrictor for a walk. Writhing, wriggling Snake jewelry. Snakes in the Hood! Will theses hip-hop snake charmers begin to spit Jabberwocky verses Odes to their Slithery Toves! Wending Awinding across tattooed pierced bodies making their way across Fulton, down Rockaway oblivious towards wide berthed glances clearing pathways via booming beats.  Ghetto Medusa come dance with me. Enchant me further with your convoluted, intertwining, sinuous living locs!

Release your coiled, corkscrewed, spiral looping familiars into Gotham’s subterranean lurching travel chambers where they can make short work of Mutant rodents who run helter skelter along the tracks and in garbage strewn streets. Nay! Never part with Vipernian allies?  Then shall my Feline Avenger wreck havoc upon your Reptilian shores.

Summer Vortex

Now that the Polar Vortex has finally released its icy grip from the Big Apple’s throat,  Just keep in mind this little prose/poem when the summer temps hit the high 90s and New York City becomes the Big Apple Fried Fritters.

Brooklyn Ice Berg
Brooklyn Ice Berg

Gotham a frozen Wasteland bordered by filthy fallen ice bergs lining alternate side of the street parking.  Flesh flayed by snow ice razors slashing any exposed skin, pummeling Eskimo hide thick coats, sweaters, thermals, socks, boots, hats, gloves.   Dagger driven Stalactites and stalagmites primed to guillotine busy commuters racing whipping winds hindering purposeful movement.

Sidewalk streets concealing threatening black ice ready to break bones.  Genteel timid Silly Walks a narrow twisted slow motion dance around and over snow removal made dirt mountains.  Empty blizzard sleet filled neighborhoods with only a few Yetis braving truly Abominable Old Man Winter.
