The music sewing box belonged to my Grandmother Eva Sophronia Gordon Palmer. She married my Grandfather William Junius Palmer Jan. 1919. It plays the tune, “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” Grandma Eva was a Milliner before she married my Grandfather. Their son Edward Gordon Palmer was my Dad.
The beat up white dresser was part of a childhood furniture set my Dad purchased for me when I was five. The dresser is the only piece to survive over the years. I will be 56 on Feb. 27th and basically that dresser has followed me for 50+ years.

Thank you for sharing these 2 items which must be so endearing and sentimental to you. Love the fact that the musical sewing box still plays, just like it did for your grandmother. 🙂

You’re Welcome. Everyday when I look at these two items it is like a part of my Grandmother and my Dad are with me.
Thanks! I still have my parents living room furniture, however it is currently in storage because I now live in a smaller space. When I get my own place this year I will get it out of storage. You are correct furniture made in the 1950s and 1960s holds up much better than the stuff they sell in stores now. 😉 🙂 😀 ❤
I know exactly the feeling Deborah. My mom and dad are now both gone and some items, I can sense their prescience. My dad had a fedora, that I cherish so much. 🙂
Nice with so good memories. And a good quality of furniture they made that time 😉
Such a beautiful sensitive sharing – Thank You
Big hugs
